Description
Finished the model that was put on hold about two weeks ago. Tried some new rendering options and fur sculpting techniques. Zbrush 4.0, Photoshop.Edit: DD, really !? Well, I am amazed and confused in the same time...

It's alright. You have some other pieces which I very much enjoy.

It's, pretty unnerving. There's a clear plastic look to it. At one point it looks to be a model children's toy, but then the proportions make it clear that it isn't meant for a kid to toss around. The fur looks solid, like I've mentioned, plastic. The eyes are also a tad too big, really adds to the creepiness.
All in all, this is WAY down into the uncanny Vally.

It's a great model, but the face needs a bit of work if you weren't trying to go for creepy and nightmare inducing. However, the overall model is pretty well done! Congrats on the DD! :3

Thank you, everything keep telling me about the face; I'll consider that and try to avoid design flaws in my future anthro works. This model was only a practice, nobody knew that it will get DD.

I miss Joannastar ;D Back when she was around giving DD's there never was a DD i didn't understand or agree with.
but you definitely deserve recognition for your sculpting and modeling skills 
But if i was to critique this particular image i would have to agree, its looks generally pretty scary and creepy. Not technical bad or ugly, just.. weird. It could do with actual hair-fur kind of stuff, more comic look or more realistic look, this sits right in between clay and textured model and that doesn't really do the model justice.
Anyway, its a very good sculpt and thats what counts, but only 3d-artists will be able to distinguish ...

I am depressed not less than yours with some of DD selections, including mine. This image was meant to be only a test of new techniques, like Zbrush rendering and sculpting the fur. What I could do about it? writing something like "oh noes, do not feature this as DD" in the description of each w.i.p or test picture? You would agree that this is plain silly.

Yeah it puts artists in a position i don't envy them for, i mean if you are an artist doing 3d stuff you would naturally want your best stuff and really finished stuff to be featured.
After all, such a DD is the first thing (besides the DA gallery) that pops up when someone google's your nick.
As you say theres no practical way to prevent it, you could post this in your scraps but then you'd never get any comments... ah well

Might wanna make that face toonier, because, gah, the face is gonna haunt my dreams tonight, that and, everything else looks toony and stylized.

Eyelids, yes, but also the fact it looks too similar to the normal animal's face, and the eyes kinda look soul stare-ish. If the eyes looked less beady the face probably wouldn't have made me flinch.
