Description
About:This script adds a symbol next to the deviants name that shows if the user is online, some days offline, offline for a longer time or invisible. It also shows you if the user is watching you.
This is a working script! Install it if you want this!
Features:--> adds a symbol next to the deviants name that shows his status:
red - Offline longer than a week
yellow - Offline shorter than a week
green - Online
grey - Invisible
--> GM-Menu lets you set if there should be a Not-Watching-Button and since when a Deviant is in red-status!
--> displays a new button "Watching You" when Deviant is watching you, otherwise "Not watching you"
--> only works on their profile-page!
--> uncheck "extra watch-button"to change the present +watch-button instead!
--> if the clock-symbol is shown, the script currently updates your watcher-list! Hover over the symbol to see how many are already updated! (something about 600 Watchers/second)
--> if you go to another profile/actualize while the script is updating, it will resume updating on the new site
--> clicking on the button will get you a setting-window to choose:
- - - >when a Deviant is not yellow but red
- - - >if the button should be visible when not watching you
- - - >after which time the watcher-list should be updated
- - - >If you'd like the long text-watch-button or a shorter one
--> Click on the Friends-button and then "Manage friends". In the upcoming list, hover over the names of the people you watch. After some seconds there should be a little Icon like on their profile-page, when they were last active. Now you can just remove all that are inactive for some years or something^^
Preferences:
Should work with Firefox, Opera and Chrome! For Opera and Chrome see my Howto dediggefedde.deviantart.com/jo… to install properly. It may also work in Safari, but is not tested.
Install: phi.pf-control.de/userscripts/…
Again, it was a visual suggestion, located here: sarahell.deviantart.com/art/DA…
However, I know there is a script that already shows if you are watched.
Well, I wanted to create my own and heard the other stopped working.
But don't think, I just copy some parts from there! This script is fully written by myself!
Update:
Some errors using Firefox are fixed with some rewrites.
Errors with Chrome are fixed by switching to tampermonkey-extension.
Update v3:
I changed the watch-button instead of adding a new one.
It changes to "mutual watchers" when you watch each other.
The profile-page contains now a settings-button.
The Friend-list will now get Icons depending on the user's last activity on hover.
If you update from an earlier version it may display the buttons wrong until you let it refetch your list.

Well, if you would like to know, if someone is watching you, it would be more effort to visit your /friends/-page and search for its name...
About the coloured Dot... Well, you save one click^^
If you don't like one of the two features, they can be easily disabled within the script...

Well, if there is no error (although most of the time today I was trying to solve everyone's) this should only take 2 or 3 minutes to install^^

Are you using IE+Trixie, FF+Greasemonkey chrome+blank-canvas or Opera?
Do you get a error-window by trying to install it?

IE9, I downloaded that trixie thing, but it doesn't seem to do anything, and yeah, I keep getting an error window that says " 'navigator' could not be indentified"

did you copy the script into your script-folder (e.g. C:/Programme/Bhelpuri/Trixie/Scripts) and activated it in your IE-Options under "Trixie-Options"?
I cannot give any gurantee that it will work in IE, as every IE on every PC and every script seem to work different^^

There is a workaround using simbl and greasekit mentioned here: [link]

i just downloaded it and i got this
You are using Dev_User_inf without a proper Greasemonkey-workaround!
if you are using Chrome, please uninstall the script again and use a script handler like "Blank Canvas Script Handler"

Well, if you using IE, you may have to use Trixie to run userscripts! However, no guarantee that it will work^^
How about using Firefox, Chrome or Opera instead if you like extensions and userscripts?

ValkyrieKago In reply to Dediggefedde [2011-10-22 23:42:54 +0000 UTC]
Trixie?

I wrote a little HowTo (linked in the description as well):
[link]
But today all Browsers have similar abilities! On some contents chrome or IE are very fast, but if you like to install costumizations like Gm-userscripts, Addons, Stylesheets (with stylish) etc. Firefox is currently the best solution ^^

Dediggefedde In reply to ValkyrieKago [2011-10-23 14:03:47 +0000 UTC]
mmh...
it seems that IE doesn't like xpaths... only IE9 and I have XP^^
I tried to write a workaround, but that seems to be very complicated... first, IE used not XPathValidator, but selectNodes, which delivers an aray instead of an xpath-element. Then there isn't something like doom, so I need to convert the html-code via activX in something I can use selectNodes on... Then, SelectNodes can only give me the innerHTML as Text, so I need to alter the current commands for something like xml-use...
Well, I treid two hours to fix it, but it seems not really worth the effort^^
I will remove IE from the list above...
Why not using FF, Opera or Chrome?^^

Love this, with only one personal hang-up. I've always believed that invisible should be invisible. Meaning that if someone is invisible, nobody should know they're invisible and they should just show up as offline. But since I'm not doing the coding work, that isn't my choice and I'm still gonna install this. Thanks for the hard work!

namenotrequired In reply to iceofwolf [2011-10-22 23:43:55 +0000 UTC]
In my opinion 'offline' would be a lie when they are really 'invisible'
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
iceofwolf In reply to namenotrequired [2011-10-22 23:46:48 +0000 UTC]
Oh, it absolutely is. It's a matter of coding choice, really. Showing that a user is invisible is more truthful, but gives away more information than that user may want. Showing that an invisible user is offline technically creates a lie when they are, but it provides absolutely no information about their browsing habits.
Both have merits. Which reminds me, there's no reason for me to be invisible anymore.

I just realized you're totally right and I already knew that! I remember seeing the little empty circle on some of my friends.
Ah, well. If that's how DA has chosen to code 'invisible', then it's understood that invisible really isn't. I normally wouldn't be, but recently was involved in a bit of an ugly affair, so didn't want to leave any footprints that could be thought as antagonistic.
Installing right now!
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Dediggefedde In reply to iceofwolf [2011-10-22 23:08:43 +0000 UTC]
Well, actually it is the REAL invisibility! If someone is offline, you can tell that he is away/somewhere else, but in invisibility-mode the probability of presence is homogeneous!
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
iceofwolf In reply to Dediggefedde [2011-10-23 00:00:30 +0000 UTC]
Oh, they both definitely provide the same amount of information about whether a user is or isn't online - which is no information at all. They just provide different info about that user's browsing habits is all.
