Description
About:This script adds a symbol next to the deviants name that shows if the user is online, some days offline, offline for a longer time or invisible. It also shows you if the user is watching you.
This is a working script! Install it if you want this!
Features:--> adds a symbol next to the deviants name that shows his status:
red - Offline longer than a week
yellow - Offline shorter than a week
green - Online
grey - Invisible
--> GM-Menu lets you set if there should be a Not-Watching-Button and since when a Deviant is in red-status!
--> displays a new button "Watching You" when Deviant is watching you, otherwise "Not watching you"
--> only works on their profile-page!
--> uncheck "extra watch-button"to change the present +watch-button instead!
--> if the clock-symbol is shown, the script currently updates your watcher-list! Hover over the symbol to see how many are already updated! (something about 600 Watchers/second)
--> if you go to another profile/actualize while the script is updating, it will resume updating on the new site
--> clicking on the button will get you a setting-window to choose:
- - - >when a Deviant is not yellow but red
- - - >if the button should be visible when not watching you
- - - >after which time the watcher-list should be updated
- - - >If you'd like the long text-watch-button or a shorter one
--> Click on the Friends-button and then "Manage friends". In the upcoming list, hover over the names of the people you watch. After some seconds there should be a little Icon like on their profile-page, when they were last active. Now you can just remove all that are inactive for some years or something^^
Preferences:
Should work with Firefox, Opera and Chrome! For Opera and Chrome see my Howto dediggefedde.deviantart.com/jo… to install properly. It may also work in Safari, but is not tested.
Install: phi.pf-control.de/userscripts/…
Again, it was a visual suggestion, located here: sarahell.deviantart.com/art/DA…
However, I know there is a script that already shows if you are watched.
Well, I wanted to create my own and heard the other stopped working.
But don't think, I just copy some parts from there! This script is fully written by myself!
Update:
Some errors using Firefox are fixed with some rewrites.
Errors with Chrome are fixed by switching to tampermonkey-extension.
Update v3:
I changed the watch-button instead of adding a new one.
It changes to "mutual watchers" when you watch each other.
The profile-page contains now a settings-button.
The Friend-list will now get Icons depending on the user's last activity on hover.
If you update from an earlier version it may display the buttons wrong until you let it refetch your list.

If you are using Safari, you could try to get it working with simbl and greasekit as described here: [link]
But no guarantee that this will work^^

Well, there is a combination of Simlbe and Greasekit, described here: [link]
However, it isn't working for every safari and every userscript (+ I don't have a mac, so no testing^^)

Well, and everyone else that is watching you^^
However, you could see that already by visiting username.deviantart.com/friends.
But searching is less comfortable than a simple button^^

Really hate to bother you, but it looks like a really awesome script. I've used Greasemonky before, and have it. I installed the script, restarted firefox, but there appears to be no change in... anything. Is there something extra I have to do to set it up, or is something wrong/have I done something wrong?

Well, it's only working on deviants-profile-pages!
are there any javascript errors?
try ctrl+shift+j (+switch to "errors") to open the console, clear the entries and reload the site, so you can see them!

Aye. I meant that nothing on anyone's userpage looked any different.
Gobs and gobs of warnings. I assume that's normal though (also those all appear to the occurring with the CSS on dA itself). Only one real error, "truncated image", but it's just telling me "unknown" where it ought to tell me where the problem is.

Hey, I downloaded and I am on Chrome, so I downloaded the Blank Canvas thing. What do I do after that? It's not showing up.
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Dediggefedde In reply to elecxra [2011-10-22 22:03:07 +0000 UTC]
you need to first install blank canvas, then the script from the green install-button on the site I linked above!
If you installed it before blank canvas, you need to uninstall in your extension-list.
you can get there by menu->tools->extensions or with chrome://extensions .
There should be NO Dev_User_Inf listed there! But in the Blank-canvas-options should be such an entry!

I keep getting the "You are using Dev_User_inf without a proper Greasemonkey-workaround!
if you are using Chrome, please use a script handler like "Blank Canvas Script Handler" [link] !
If you are using Opera, please use the GM-workaround-scripts like I described here: [link]
Close" pop-up on every single page while when I close it the program works and I did what the pop-up told me. How do I get rid of the program?

Dediggefedde In reply to DrHitpoint [2011-10-22 21:39:07 +0000 UTC]
if you visit "Menu->tools->extensions" or chrome://extensions, there should be a list.
That's, where NO dev_user_inf should be shown.
The def_user_inf in the script-handlser-options should be there!

Well, I thought of another way to let the user know, what to do^^
But for chrome, the only other way would be a prompt, that would make the rest of the page lightly gray and even more annoying^^

I downloader it, though there's always a little window appearing, saying I don't have the ''proper'' something.
Is there a way to de-install it ?;n;
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Dediggefedde In reply to Echoconut [2011-10-22 20:20:57 +0000 UTC]
Well...
If you are using chrome, you need a script handler (the "something"). If you install it in chrome and install the script again, everything should work.
uninstall the script from your extension-list by clicking "menu->Tools->Extension".

Dediggefedde In reply to Echoconut [2011-10-22 21:12:58 +0000 UTC]
it doesn't work? the message still appears?
you need to install the script handler, THEN the script AND uninstall the script from your extension-list!
If you made that right, there should be NO Entry in your extension-list, but ONE in your script-handler-options!

Install it and then visit the install-page of my script again!

Well, if the box keeps appearing, you maybe have chrome?
So, as it is working, you installed the script-handler and installed the script again?
Then, as the message is is still popping out, you forgot to remove the script from your extension-list?

you are using chrome?
did you already install the canvas-script-handler?
after you installed it, you have to install the script again!
If that part is right, you should see dev_user_inf in your script-handler-options, but not in your extension-list!
