This I did on a lark. It's been swimming in my head for a while, and I decided one slow night online to give it a whirl in Photoshop. I have an Aiptek professional-grade digital tablet and pen, and have been drawing for as long as I've been alive.

So I decided ok, time to do some anime-like Matrix fanart. Now I'd have put this in anime, but since this is actually fanart, I figured it belonged here more than there, even though it probably fits in both categories. Yeah, they are kind of stylized...and that was the idea, really. Play off anime and comics with their look.

Enjoy. And I'd like comments please.I'm not quite as happy with Morpheus as I am with the look of Trinity, Neo, and Smith. I guess I have trouble drawing Laurence Fishburne's face accurately right now? Oh well....

Oh yeah, and a tip about doing something in the background that looks like Matrix Code without having to get a Matrix-code wallpaper or that ZMatrix thingy that animates code rolling down your desktop? Paintcan a selected area, then use Vertical Grain filter on high intensity and high contrast. If you want a 3D-code look, try Vertical and Horizontal Grain in overlapping layers, and fiddle with the Radial Blur> Zoom filters. Saves time and hassle. I used it here, if you haven't noticed yet.
