A compilation of how I approach whitetail deer heads! I plan on doing an antler walkthrough eventually if people want, but for now I decided to just do this since my server is based around deer.

There are many ways to approach animal drawing, this is just my way! Over the past few years, doing this process has made ungulate drawing the quickest and easiest for me. Not all of these drawings are fully accurate, features may be out of proportion due to many factors. I am constantly learning and improving as any artist should be.

The most important note is to have a LOT of references. I have 4 professionally taxidermied deer in my office, many skulls, death casts of deer parts, sculpted casts of deer heads, eye molds and ear muscle casts, among other items to help me while I draw.

All deer are shaped differently yet the process remains pretty much the same. Proportions vary wildly within a singular species not to mention 50+ species of deer. Study references and adjust.
