you shouldΒ investΒ some time inΒ Metroid. your great at it and it's such a large (for its time) and complicated game you could really do some interesting things with an ecosystem, or maybe bio-tech? the possibilities are endless...

Oh yeah, I've certainly considered doing a big-scale Metroid project. My brother's kind of in the middle of one based on the first game (which would be my choice to do as well) but I've got so many upcoming projects that I'm not sure when it could happen.
Again, it's definitely a possibility, and I know I'd love doing it too! The influence of Alien and Nausicaa on Metroid is what makes it visually my favorite game property out there, and there's so much to expand upon!Β

This was a bit of a redesign, but also representative of the art found in the NES manual of the first game, which were very strange.Β

As awesome as she was in Super Metroid, I didn't like the addition of the giant cyclopian eye. Looked too typical I thought.

oh man. i just registered the connection now. that bestiary was incredibly ambitious of them to feature...and i was just stunned at how much it included, even at launch. i didn't read the fine print before, but obviously recognize these. awesome contributions! incredible Sova, and love logic behind the Metroid redesign.

Dude, fantastic work as always, I think I already saw a few of those on the site before you posted it here (the blue fire spider thing for sure). I thought that marine Metroid was called something else though

Thanks man! Oh, I just took the Metroid in a different direction. The original game manual made it look more like a jellyfish, so I decided to add those tentacles and such.

I love the first 3 games, especially 1 and Super.
Never played Prime, but would like to give it a try someday.

I think my favorite of the side scrolling titles was Zero Mission.
A masterpiece, truly.
Prime is very good. Atmosphere is the focus, similar to Super.

Zero mission was still a very solid game, but the direction it took the series in kind of irritates me(character choices mainly, Zero-suit for instance.)
For some reason, there's still nothing to me that beats the atmosphere that Metroid 1 had. One of the most unexplainably eerie games I've played.

I like Metroid 1, but Zero Mission is an improvement because quite frankly... I like a game I can beat XD

I've beaten the first game, but I agree, it was difficult.
Oh, the direction it took samus in, she was made into a more generic character because of the tight suit to flaunt her sex appeal. Personally, I prefer the green haired pink leotard Samus.

I don't mind either way... I think the zero suit was done tastefully, I mean, the only time you ever played in it was Zero Mission and it's a tiny GBA sprite.
