I have seen it multiple times in my time in secondary school that people can be ignored. I never was as I never allowed myself to be
but I know people who were and are still 'awkward'. So I make my mission that whenever I stride into class, to sit with anyone who is by themselves! (I know who prefers to sit by themselves and who doesn't choose to).
Just take one class, you don't always have to sit with your friends, and you can explain to them if they get upset, but it can make a big difference to someone who feels excluded for someone like ya to appear and take an interest in them!
So yea, you could make a HUGE impact on someone just by simply choosing to sit with them and saying hello! It might not seem like much to you, but it could really mean the world to them.
And the title choice cuz I felt it truly fit

I did this, and it ruined my life. That person was literally the person with least personality I've met, and when you try to make them leave you alone, they just don't get it, so you have to ignore them, and even then.
As a person who is usually the awkward and one left out, I understand it may or may not be a personal choice to be a loner like that, but you never, never bug someone just cause they've talked to you once.
To anyone reading this:
They might want to be alone, they might not.
They might have problems, they might not.
LOOK AT HOW THEY ARE before joining and being social toward them. Some people are ignored cause they don't even try, and some are ignored because, honestly, they HAVE to be ignored.

I'm so happy you made this. I am always that 'awkward' kid in class who never talks. I have few friends. I keep to myself and some kids call me emo and stuff like that. This poem makes me SO very happy!

Oh wow.... this poem.... I really don't know what to say about it without crying lol xD..... this relates to me so much in so many ways.... I've always been the "awkward" kid in my class and I've always hoped that someone would bother to look further for once. Making friends has never really been my specialty...

Theres someone in my class who is realy shy and sits by themselves. I try to include him in the conversations but he just says something short, laughs like hes embarased and leaves. Would this be someone who wants top be by themselves? or should i sit next to him? ^____________^

I would sit next to him. He might just be too embarrassed, maybe he's not used to kindness. Maybe people usually leave him alone, so he doesn't know how to respond. .. I'm just throwin' stuff in the wind.. Hope my random advice, = (if you can call it that) helps.

Love this I just wish someone did this when I started school long ago. I was always the outsider. I did wind up with only 3 friends by the end of my senior year I guess that all that counts anyway. Hope this help another child. Thanks
