That was my motto for High School. Seriously, their policies where stupid. Instead of letting me go to class which I'm already late to and missing important information, they think it's better for me to sit in the office and write about why I was late and how you are going to try harder not to be late. So they're basically making it worse...
The only reason I would be late is because of a situation that occurred earlier. I was not a goof off who took their sweet time getting to class. But because a lot of the students were like that I got grouped with them. So if I either woke up late because my alarm failed I just stayed home. According to school official's actions, that was better than being late.

You know, I think they should at least appreciate kids who are late still attempting to make it to their class and learn. 5 minutes late doesn't kill anyone. As if they've never been late before. If you were late at my school, you'd be sent to a holding area for THE REST OF THE DAY. Needless to say, my mother and a whole slew of parents complained, and they scrapped it.
Now, instead, you just get OUT OF SCHOOL SUSPENSION.

your never late, every one else is just really early...my motto lol, that and if you enter the class backwards the teacher will be like where are you going. so it look s like you were there but you were leaving instead of being late (This only works if you like two minutes or less late)
