Description EDIT: It has been brought to my attention by a commenter that the 'randomly placed apostrophes' were throwing off the flow. So I removed em.

THERE WILL BE NO PUNCUATION. This will be a continueing trend throughout the rest of my poetry. I've seen the light and old habits die hard.

Poem about people acting older than they are, or wanting to be older, not taking the time to enjoy themselves while they're what they are. =]

Oh god yes, this! The story of my life so far!
My mum (when growling at me) always brings up 'you obviously want to be treated like an adult...' and I really don't. I want to stay a kid! I dont like all this responsibility!!!

lol, this is exactly why i act so childish all the time
it seems that when people are kids, they just can't wait to be 18, then when they turn 18, they can't wait to be 21, then once that happens, they realize their childhood is gone, and want to be 6 again
its quite sad really

so imma be a 15 year old acting all sixish, and no one will stop me

I really think I should stop dieting now. I'm not even in high school, and I think I'm too fat..but...I want to be skinny. Orz.

Demachic In reply to Majestic-Mind [2011-08-20 14:43:55 +0000 UTC]

Are you dieting in a healthy way? You just need to eat right, drink water and get exercise daily!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Majestic-Mind In reply to Demachic [2011-08-20 19:49:22 +0000 UTC]

Well, I eat one small meal a day and a couple really small snacks. And I dance and run. Is that healthy? c:>

unknownperson123 In reply to Majestic-Mind [2011-10-19 03:15:13 +0000 UTC]

nope. You need to eat something every three hours as well as exercise. I don't mean eat a whole meal every 3 hours, just eat a couple pretzels every three hours. A car can't drive with no gas in it, and neither can you go without any food.

Majestic-Mind In reply to unknownperson123 [2011-10-19 04:31:22 +0000 UTC]

I'll follow that advice. I've lost my appetite, but a snack every three hours won't kill me. I'll pack a snack for after school too. I stay after school until 5 PM - 6 PM.

I love this poem, in fact I love your poems period! They're so down to earth, and relatable.

I always think about this, hence my favorite movie quote, "Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it." -Ferris, Ferris Bueller's Day off.

I've always lived life one day at a time, don't sweat the small stuff, and enjoy it. It's better to live life to the fullest, than to not live at all. So many people spend their lives in a constant rush, worried about the future, anxious to find someone, anxious to get that college degree. But what do you have when your youth is gone? You spent it all worrying, and rushing around trying to grow up faster.

I'm a coffee Barista, 20 years old. People in their 70's are always telling me that they wished they would have done what they wanted to do, rather than what they thought they had to. Now at 70 they don't feel like they lived the life they were supposed to, they have many regrets that they never slowed down. So they tell me that I should do what makes me happy, what I'm passionate about, focus on the small things, take it one day at time.. just live life! And I appreciate it very deeply. I take their words to heart.

After all, we don't achieve much running around like chickens with our head's cut off. We wake up one morning and realize the time is all gone, we wasted it on things that didn't matter.

Aww... this is so accurate. I remember being in middle school and just anticipating high school... Then high school came and I was wanting college. Now all of my friends in college are reliving our childhood. ^^ Mostly with lots of video games.

Though, I do like being my age, I wish I could have squeezed a few more happy years from my childhood.

yeah, though it's annoying to still be referred to as kid and grouped with the 5 yr old's by your family when you're over 21.

The young want to be older and the old want to be younger.... don't think it will ever change much.

I always thought that, kids in my class would be like i cant wait to drive, or i cant wait when im older i can go out, and have a cool job, whereas me i was dreading the last days of little school when you couldnt play 'horsies' in the play ground and put our school jumpers round our neck to pretend it was a cape. I refuse to 'grow up'

Ugh, I'm in middle school (going into eighth) and well, I AGREE. Where I go to school, these girls dump SO MUCH MAKEUP on their faces... I mean, a little bit of eyeliner and some lipgloss would'nt hurt anyone, but these girls (My age BTW) dump all of these different colors of eyeshadow and blush and mascara on... it's terribly annoying. Not to mention, I know one who's worried about WRINKLES.

And don't get me started on cellphones and kissing... -_-

Sorry about rambling to you, poor and innocent bystander. XD

YOUR STORY IS EXACTLY LIKE MINE! D:

...except they start at 3rd grade here ;A; I've even heard of a 3rd grader who is shaving her legs and I have SEEN a 3rd grader waltzing around the boys, dressed up like a slut, and has make up ALL OVER HER FACE.

The world is insane these days...

Holy crap, my little sister is in the fifth grade now, but in the third grade, where we used to live, there was this little girl who would only wear these freaking TIGHT leggings with just as tight shirts. Where we live now, my sister knew a girl last year who wears eyeliner and mascara and lipstick... *shudder* Parents are creeps... Those kids are the ones who usually end up on some teen mom show, or putting their baby on Toddlers & Tiaras. They usually get nowhere... unless you count Britney Spears, but she's freaking annoying, soooo...

Parents can be such creeps nowadays.

You remind me of myself when I was your age. c: Just hang in there! Oh I hated those girls for that.. now I understand that they probably had a lot different home lives than I did. Different parenting, maybe jealousy of an older sibling, lack of attention.. whatever it was, maybe for some it's just because it's cool, I learned later that by hating them for it.. I was actually worse than them.

It's weird how at 20, this is occurring to me lol. I would say you almost spend more time and energy being annoyed, when it would be so much easier to ignore them and not worry about it. I'm rambling haha, but this is just what I've observed over time, maybe it'll help you in some way? Just be thankful for what you have. You're a very lucky person. c:

My advice, keep it light. Guys actually like accent makeup not full on EXPLOSIONS. Keep it real girl.
