FINALLY. Jesus. Re-tweaking this character of mine off and on... it seemed like forever since I last started trying to re-tweak at some of his appearance.

As I mentioned in the previous version, in more likely in hints of in the comments if not in my artist description, a while back having posted this, something still did not fit right to me, with Erebus. While I loved how he turned out, I still felt there were still hidden potentials in his appearance, as a villain. You know those feelings you get where you find something cool, but you could see it being even more awesome? That was what I had basically been feeling.
Off and on ever since, I thought about it, and even tried some ideas while also bouncing some of them back and forth with my boyfriend. If there's one thing I'm no big expert in, it's armor. When it came to his design, I wasn't sure how far to go with such, when it comes to his usual appearance. So, I had a little help with armor ideas from my boyfriend.
One tweak in his design that may seem the most apparent is his overall head/body shape. I wouldn't call it drastic change, but it's definitely enough to see it, if you compared both versions. This tweak of his form came from after seeing the Crystal Pony two-part episode, when we first see King Sombra. My boyfriend made a bit of a basic height chart on his end: :thumb337659183:
Now, we both like to think this chart, although a bit rough, is pretty accurate. And trust me, as I was diagnosed with OCD, things tend to bother me when things like height or look are not accurate. So, through looking at height comparisons in the episodes from those like Cadance/Luna's height, to even the normal filly and mare height like Sweetie Belle and Twilight, while also seeing evidence of how Discord stood with other ponies, calculating the rest as a whole, well... I think you get the idea. So, if you look at Sombra, he is at best around Celestia's height-range.
But to cut this rant shorter, Matt and I felt Sombra's body held potentials or more that we considered as a base for a "masculine body for male alicorns", where it came to height and proportion (no, Erebus is not an alicorn, but you hopefully get where I'm going). Of course, this is our own opinion. When I posted the previous character line-up of Erebus, this was before knowing fully with Sombra and his frame and shape. Plus, it seemed somewhat fitting the longer I let it set in my head, story-wise. Plus, let's just say Erebus and Sombra.... know each other.

As for Erebus's overall height around others? It remains the same as in that small diagram that was in his previous character sheet. Yes, he's a biggin' Which is meant to portray him with a bit of a Titanesque height in physical appearance, considering he was once a higher form (albeit stripped of), by Princess Celestia and Luna's parents.
Of course, now that Twilight's a princess... Which is cool, by the way, haters. XP
But in all seriousness, Twilight in the diagram would probably not change THAT much. As there weren't too many changes compared to before, apart from a new set of wings. Seeing her beside her friends and her brother, it looks more like her changes are more in her legging and she has more of a neck than the average mare (which is obviously seen from alicorns even from Luna and Cadance). Still, unless I'm wrong, she is still technically shorter than Luna; which Luna shares height likeliness with Cadance. I might be wrong, but at least based on what we could see, this is my own assumption.

As for the text wall on the previous version? His details up to the bio? Hmm... MOSTLY the same, but there are definite tweaks to it, the longer I've been thinking and setting up writing the story. So, there you go. Just so you know.

ANYWAY.

I don't know if this updated version of Erebus would be considered an improvement to any of you that are looking at it, but in my own opinion, I'd at least like to think it is a great upgrade. What do you guys think? Better? The same? Worse...? DDD:

And, I REALLY hate to put a watermark on this masterpiece, but this design and my overall fanfiction plot line is incredibly important to me. There are sadly still art thieves amongst us.

There are actually two other pictures in the works that relate and have Erebus in it (that are surprisingly not character sheet things). Hopefully, those should be coming on my page soon(anytime next week. Pffth. If only that would happen. )

As always, credit to my boyfriend mattwilson83 is due. As I mentioned before, I was bouncing ideas off him and he bounced some back, was there when I was getting impatient wih the picture, and was very supportive and helpful to me, especially with such beautiful color. While it's true I have a tablet, I still don't have the full hang of or to the extent of his experience.. which I REALLY NEED to keep doing and practicing anyway...
