Description EDIT: Putting in a description for Schroeder, which has been missing since I first put this up.

[link] <-- Sketch page. Some names have been changed from sketches to colour, such as the lyjaxx there is NOT Quirk. Quirk has a collar and completely different colourations, but I temporarily forgot about that when I was drawing him, so it ended up being a random lyjaxx instead.

The last six pages are done! I think Schroeder in this page is the largest full-body that I've done.

Fun Fact: I have no idea where Schroeder's name came from. It just applied itself to that character and hasn't changed since.

Fun Fact II: Shadow started as a Soul Knife - Shadow Dancer from an impromptu D&D 3.5 game a friend hosted. He was meant to be combat oriented, and ended up creating a rift in space-time reality in a small necropolis simply by making inquiry on the meaning of happiness. He wasn't even intended to be a good talker. Later, a friend was teaching me how to host RPGs, and an NPC that I was hosting used Shadow magic, earning the moniker "Shadow" by his peers, and refusing to share his real name. He was a servant in an orchid. The two characters melded together into one over time.

Fun Fact III: Dean was originally going to be a character in a Shadowrun game, but my sheet was not completed in time ( or something - I don't remember - he was never able to be played, though ). I thought that a.) he was too good and strong of a character to just throw out, and b.) that "trolls" would absolutely be something the genetic alteration programme would do!

Fun Fact IV: Klaus' design was based on a Disney comic I procured years and years ago featuring a short story based on Treasure Planet. The character Klaus' design was based on was seen in MAYBE two panels, but I loved the design way too much not to play with it.

Fun Fact V: Conor Richardson is loosely based on my high school science teacher Richard Croxon. The anagram of "Conor" out of "Croxon" was based on the Organisation XIII ( Kingdom Hearts II ) naming process of adding an X to the letters of one's original name and then making an anagram out of them ( Xaldin is Dilan, for instance ), except since Croxon already had an X, I took it out to see if I could find a "true name" hidden in it. I was actually just bored and waiting for my mother to pick me up from school after a meeting I was supposed to be in was cancelled, and my mother was well over an hour late in coming to pick me up. This is why Conor's name is spelled with only one N!

Fun Fact VI: Alistair's name came to me when I went to watch a play with my mother at the Edge of the World Theatre in Edmonds, WA. She does bulk mailing for them, and in return receives free tickets to their shows. I had a character that needed a name, and the character on the stage fit this character's personality incredibly well and was named Alistair.

Fun Fact VII: Benny's design is loosely based on what my brother looked like when I was in middle school.

Macy Stephanie Caldwell; Human - This is the man that Vincent holds close to his heart as a role-model, friend, and inspiration for everything he has done and accomplished since Macy's passing. Macy and Vincent both ended up on the same ship as stowaways in their youth, and worked up the ranks together for many, many years until they were able to acquire their own ship. Whereas the two actually worked as equals, the official title was always that Macy was the captain, and Vincent the first mate. Macy was the face, and heart of the whole operation, and the one that dealt more often than not with social affairs. Despite as charismatic as Vincent can be, he really doesn't like dealing with groups of people, which was something that Macy was much more skilled at. Neither intended to become pirates, but after coming upon hard times, they both ended up asking each other what's really so wrong with savaging from shipwrecks - something considered a crime in many regions. Macy designed their mascot to be a dove holding an olive branch, with the dove's body and wings mimicking a skull, and jokingly began referring to himself as "The captain of the Peaceful Pirates." After Macy's passing, Vincent spent some time on land before hiring another captain and continuing the shipping business the two had built from scratch, though Vincent's trips are much shorter and fewer between than when he was sailing with his friend.

Lyjaxx - A generic lyjaxx. This species was created by Zephaniah Hughes in his extremely rudimentary gene-splicing lab of the late 1800s. There is some whisper and rumour that magic might have been the secret to his success, but no one working with him could ever prove it definitively. It all looked like legitimate science, but even with his limited resources he managed to create several new species that now roam as natural wildlife primarily within the British Isles, but also over North-Western Europe, though the lyjaxx has been imported to the United States, and is easily the most prolific of the "psudo-species" created by the so-called mad scientist.

Rob Heast; Ekishi - Rob is about the Lopian equivalent of a psychiatrist, I suppose you could say. He helps people solve problems with life. It doesn't have quite the same science behind it as psychiatry does, but serves the same purpose in the Lopian culture. Rob took in Zen when he ended up stranded on Lopez, acting as a sort of god-father to him. Even as the FallPaws were reunited, Rob has remained a close friend of the family.

Schroeder; Lukiria – Schroeder is the leader of a travelling band of performers who settled down in Eduard’s humble theatre house when it appeared that the house had been abandoned for decades. There were rumours that the house was haunted, and previous troupes who tried to settle in it had failed and were eventually driven out. Schroeder felt up to the challenge, and informed his troupe what they were allegedly up against, and the troupe came in peacefully and even gave offerings to the “ghost”, who in turn began leaving notes for them, and then they left notes back. The communication became stable, and the “ghost” even seemed to begin helping them renovate and clean up the theatre until one day a drow-like person introduced himself to Schroeder, announcing that he was the “ghost” of the theatre house. Eduard had inherited the house from his uncle, who raised him at a young age, after Eduard’s own parents perished in a fire. The two became quick friends, and Eduard was quickly initiated into the troupe as an actor, and to this day performs in many plays the theatre produces. Eduard and Schroeder have an understanding and agreement about the treatment of the theatre house, as Eduard is the rightful owner, but legally Schroeder holds the deed. Eduard has learned a great deal about the outside world from Schroeder and the theatre troupe, and the small village that was once a ghost town outside of Eduard’s theatre house has again become a thriving, if isolated community.

Sam; Ekishi - A quick note is that Rob and Sam's name are shortened and more simplified versions of their real names. Sam is a brewer / bartender, which is how he met Zen quite some time ago. He ended up befriending Zen, and has kept in contact with him through the years.

Russell FallPaw; Spirit - Russell has a kind of "were-wolf" thing going on since his spirit was wrenched from the spirit realm into the material plane under a shoddy spell which squashed his physical being with that of his soul - his soul taking the shape of a winged, blue wolf. Elves believe in the existence of spirit animals, which is why he would become one after dying. Russell spent several years roaming Korona with Fleer, and ~FoxBandit 's Roger Silverwood, which is where his soul was summoned to. The original intent was for Russell to lead a small, cannibalistic and cult-like tribe of people into battle against another near-by tribe, but he managed to escape, which is when he ran into Fleer and Roger. After joining up with them, the three stuck together until one day Russell met Kyle, and Kyle recalled seeing another being that looked quite similar to Russell on another world, and using his time-space warping powers, he ended up pulling Russell from Korona to Lopezz, where he then was reunited with his family.

Samuel Reedson; Human - Samuel was a parter with Maverick in the original American-based branch of the Earth Military, heading one of the first genetics research facilities where many "non-human sentients" were collected and gathered in order to study and work with. The stated goal of this branch was to "Scientifically perfect the human race". Elves were of particular interest here to encourage longevity in humans. However, while Maverick was bent on finding an elixir of life, Samuel ended up tired and jaded by the moral conflicts in his own mind about what constituted as "sentient", and if something was sentient whether or not "the great advances of science" were worth torturing countless entities to find. Samuel died in his late 40s.

Shadow; Drow - When he was young, a crew of explorers came across the seas to his homeland to research the culture and peoples in this "under-civilised" land. Horrified by the hideous treatment of each other, the exploring party quickly scooped up as many of the worst-off-looking children they could find to take to a land where they would be better taken care of and overall better off. Children were taken from parents and families, and from a culture, language, and home that they understood into a completely new and alien land where they were expected to be nothing less than grateful. Younger children, and those more adaptable tended to be adopted, but older children, or children less prone to adaptation and deemed "problem" children were often sold to rich individuals as servants, such as what happened to Shadow, who was sold to a man in need of an "exotic-looking tea connoisseur". Shadow was taught to be able to smell, taste, and then judge teas for their quality and flavour, and expected to brew and serve only the best of the teas to the man who bought him and any guests he may have at any given moment. Holding closely to his name as the only scrap of himself that could not be taken from him, he has refused to give it to anyone. Shadow would occasionally have fits of rage, in which is whole body would become engulfed in a green fire-like aura, and when he broke out in a fit in front of a certain guest, the guest offered a very substantial sum of money to take the boy with him. The guest, as it would turn out, suffered fro the same fits when he was young, and took to meditation and an extremely strict lifestyle regime to better calm his mind and learn to harness the energies instead of fall victim to them, and encouraged the young boy to do the same. Shadow now lives on his own, visiting his mentor from time to time, but mostly just travels due to a restlessness within him that he is uncertain how to quell, but finds to swell when stationed in one place for too long.

Thaddeus Dean Pankhurst; Human ( Altered; "Troll" ) - Dean's parents were volunteers for the genetic alteration project hosted by the American branch of the Earth Military. As a younger individual introduced to the genetics programme later in its life, Dean has avoided most of the socially questionable ethics and morals the project used to uphold and has lived a more or less normal life, and is even currently enrolled in college to earn a Ph.D. in medicine. Both of his parents are doctors and own a small clinic that's run by the three of them. "Altered" humans have been becoming more and more populous in modern day, and especially in more progressive and open-minded areas of the world, but as always discrimination is ever-prevellent.

Akida FallPaw; Earthen Elf - Akida is the middle-child of Lucious FallPaw and Lylach SilverFeather. Russell is her older brother, and Zen is her younger brother. When her brothers went off to war, she stayed home with her parents to help keep the homestead running. However, she grew a curiosity about the outside world and began taking trips outside of her familiar home range to visit nearby towns and get to know the people there.

Khoal; Drow - Whereas Shadow was named such in a fashion intended to be humorous and perhaps a bit ironic, Khoal's name was actually a product of dyslexia. I was looking up the drow word for "clean", and all of those letters were present, but in a completely different arrangement. One note, at least, is that the H is NOT silent. Now, as for the character, unlike Shadow who was essentially kidnapped and brought overseas, Khoal's parents went willingly - stowed away, in fact. Khoal was raised only second-generation away from those "uncivilised" cultures and traditions, but has come along nicely since being assigned to Schroeder's care. This picture here, he must have just been woken up, because he is required by law to wear a bright orange shirt to make it well-known that he's a convict on parole, but the little town that he lives in is so scarcely populated that law enforcement is rarely ever seen, and everyone knows everyone else, so it's a well-known enough fact that he can be a bit lenient with that particular rule. He doesn't like to, but his colleges often try to encourage him to relax a little, and not feel the need to hide behind a label like that.

Klaus Copperfield; Human ( Altered ) - I love this man's facial expressions. Just putting that out there. Klaus was born to two volunteers of the Polish genetic engineering branch of the Earth Military. For most of his childhood, all was good and well, until the Polish branch underwent a change in authority. Overnight, Klaus went from looking forward to earning his diploma to fearing for his life as he was forcibly taken from his family, and then forced to go through a super-soldier training regime. When put out on his first mission, Klaus used all of the training he had received to escape. However, he was filled with a desire for revenge, and began to put his skills up for hire as an assassin, hoping to one day find the name of the man who had overturned the Polish branch as a prospective hit. In recent years, his fire for revenge has burnt out, and now all he wants is to get back to his family. After finding out that the Polish branch had gone back into the same command it was under when he was a child, he has re-approached them to ask for protection so that he could safely "retire" from the assassination line of work. He is currently working a very safe and boring paper-pushing job, waiting for the right time where it would be safe for him to get back in contact with his family.

Conor Richardson; Human ( Altered ) - Conor was another voluntary donation to science, but his alterations are a bit less obvious. The duel-coloured eyes were actually natural, but the short, pointed ears are a trademark of the genetic alteration project. Conor's alteration, instead, was an experiment on longevity. He is not intended to outlast other humans by generations, but rather simply not to be as affected by aging. It would seem that so far is so good. Conor has become a veterinarian, and in the past he had helped the genetic alteration project, until their ethics ended up clashing with his, and he began to feel that he may be putting himself and his family in danger by being associated with the project he was assigned to. His work has been widely used and expanded upon for creating artificial life, though.

Aleksander "Feenickz" Dickson; Human ( Werewolf ) - This character was actually based loosely on a friend in high school. However, my friend wasn't a werewolf. Not much more has been explored on this character, though.

Alistair; Human - Alistair is like the wizard equivalent of a mad scientist. I haven't really determined if he's a "good" or "bad" guy yet, though. Again, not much has been put into this character. Heck, I didn't even know what he looked like until I drew this!

Benjamin Grace; Human - Benny is one of my OLDEST characters. He came into creation probably in middle school? He's a trucker - an interstellar trucker at that! His original design was supposed to have him wearing sunglasses all the time, but I really didn't want to deal with trying to draw them at the time I was doing the line-art, because they kept coming out very bad-looking, and his eyes are probably his most identifiable character trait, anyway. He's second-generation genetic alteration, which is why he's not classified as an "Altered", lacks the pointed ears, but has red eyes. He's not really an "interstellar" trucker in that he goes into space, he just travels between Earth, Lopezz, and Makrabeh to ship things around. He donated some DNA to the genetics alteration project, which was spliced with a Kokobria ( native to Lopezz ), and ended up with Huckle.

Huckle Grace; Kokobria-hybrid - Huckle's mother-donor requested not to be contacted, but since Benny had not he was asked whether or not he would want to raise his offspring. He agreed, a bit puzzled at first, but the two quickly became quite inseparable. Huckle is an ever-present part of Benny's life, and has grown up travelling with him.

Korona © Roger Silverwood ~FoxBandit ( however, racial concepts expressed here that are attributed to Korona are mine )

"Earth Military" was an idea I piggy-backed and warped over time that originated with ~nnys-daughter

Funny how differently people see things! That's probably my least favourite, to be honest. XD

Well, there's also the dragon ones, on the top middle right and the second row on the left that I like. :3

Oh yeah, I really like how the top-middle and second row-left ones came out. :3

They're not dragons, though. Only one character out of all 142 characters that I have is a dragon, actually!
