The only bits I'd correct are a few spelling errors. Otherwise great tut. I'll have to tinker with it when I get more time.

Best star tutorial I've used ever, but I'm a little confused with the first step. After making the big star layer, should I apply a layer effect (screen, overlay...etc) or edit is opacity so I can see the small star layer behind it?

i work at 300 resolution and the dimensions of my works are usually 3000 by 3000 ish pixels... do i just have to keep resizing to get the stars big enough because they are so small i can hardly see them when pic is resized. but i feel like the quality is getting reduced from the resizing so i dunno what do you think i should do?

unfortunately this method doesnt really work on a large scale. scaling the stars up looks pretty bad, like you said. the only way ive found to do stars in 300dpi is to use individual star brushes. i have a set of like 9 different star brushes, you can check them out in my gallery.

random.... but I'm using your tutorial again for a new picture I'm working on. Β Such a useful tutorial !!!!!
I am trying to make the picture bigger. and the noise to make stars really slows my computer down. I've had to make the background into a separate file and close it until I finish my picture and can merge the images. Β worth it

this tutorial is not only outdated, but it was a hybrid of multiple tutorials i had read and some techniques of my own. this is also stated in the tutorial itself.
