Previously in the climbing hall: Despite initial concerns, Zoë was happy to finally be able to climb again. The nimble girl managed to climb some easy walls without any problems. Encouraged by these initial successes, she decided to try the more difficult and partly overhanging routes, reassured by Carla that she would be secured if she slipped.
However after months of inactivity, her condition was no longer what it once was. At one particularly difficult point she noticed how slowly but surely her strength was failing her. Not wanting to overexert herself, she would have Carla rappel her down.
For Carla, completely confident in Zoë’s climbing skills, this request came as a surprise. As she was lost in thought and preoccupied with her smartphone, she failed to tighten the rope in time before Zoë let herself fall. The suddenly tense rope yanked her forward, out of the wheelchair and just below where Zoë was dangling in the ropes. When she bounced on the floor, a sharp pain in her armmade her let go of the rope - resulting in Zoë rushing uncontrollably towards the ground where Carla layed. Even the best plans fail if they are not implemented properly…

Carla was so confident and totally surprised when it yanked her out of her wheelchair. It is likely that the shock of this will not last too long - the consequences of her fall, however, she will feel for quite some time.
