Description
This one was a pretext to experiment a lot with making water waves and underwater bubbles. I loved making this, mainly because I thought it to be tricky and to require a lot of time. I hope you will enjoy this #SurpriseSunday drawing too.Related content

The colours in this are fantastic! I also appreciate the composition; it leads the eye up to the surface of the water (especially with the bubbles) and creates a sense of motion. You have done a decent job of creating foreground, middle and background, though there is part of me that wishes for the top portion of the water where the texture is to have a more definitive form, but that might just be a matter of preference. It certainly doesn't get in the was of this being a great piece. The last thing I would submit is that the eye work very well as a focal point, but not just because it is an eye; it is also the darkest thing in the piece, which sets it apart from the other elements in this image. Nice work!

Thank you! Although I have to say, the eye part was not necessarily a choice. Turtle eyes are very dark in colour, so it was just a happy artistic accident that they are the darkest focal point.

I really enjoy this piece of artwork. The colors are vibrant. The blue of the water really complements the duller shades of the turtle. The texture of the skin and shell is wonderful. The eye is very expressive. The shape of the turtle is and its animation is excellent. I'm not sure if turtles breath out underwater but the bubbles are a nice touch, reminding us that these animals are air breathers. The surface of the water gives a definite roof to the scene. All in all I really like this work and think it shows good skill and a good eye for the subject

Thank you for this critique. I somehow find the colours of the turtle to be more vibrant, but maybe that's because I am drawn to warmer tones and they contrast well with the background. Turtles exhale sometimes while underwater and sometimes little bubbles of air are simply trapped under their body and are released when they move. This time I was alluding to exhalation.

Well, in general, you can assume that anything that breathes in air would normally exhale it too. You know, they need to come to the surface to breathe, they can't do it underwater likeΒ fish can. Fish don't make air bubbles, as far as I know.

I upload here with a maximum size of 900 px. I start from 9000 px and scale down. So... I don't do anything special.

You can use smaller resolutions, maybe try 6000. The point is to reduce the size considerably. Makes forΒ crisper images.
