You had a bit of foreshadowing for this #FluffyFriday , and I must say I am not particularly proud of this one. Chicken aren't literally fluffy, but this one looked the part, so I thought of having some fun with it.Related content

Is she like a pet? I was always curious how chicken behave when kept as pets and actually given the attention and nurture an animal deserves. Do they make nice pets?

well she is not the only chicken I have, I have 4 other chickens (they are all other races like Italian chicken, Polish chicken, green egg laying chicken and a normal brown chicken) they all look very strange. But to awnser your question: even if it is very fluffy and calm it still is a chicken. She loves to lay in the dirt and to eat all day long. She would not come to you to get pet or anything like that. There was a time where she ate the food out of my hands when she was younger but she likes to be with her other chicken friends more. You need at least a little garden or something and have to have at least two chickens. Silkies are very social and need a friend
But they are really nice and you can pet them if you won their trust ^-^

Oh, that sounds lovely... and about the petting and everything, I can imagine that a feathered toothless velociraptor (after all, that's what they are...) won't be very cuddly. But they are cute. My grandpa used to have a chick he had nurtured since it was little, gave it more attention because it was a bit frail, so it would always come to 'greet' him at the chicken pen, and would allow him to pick it up. I always thought that with a bit more attention than he had time to give them, chicken might be actually affectionate and very nice pets. That's why I was asking you about it.

It depends on the character of the chiken if it gets affectionate or not. There are the ones where you can do what you want and they will not ever trust you and there are the ones that get affectionate very easily. Oh and yea, they may be little feathered dinosaurs and with some chickens you really think they are beasts but as I said earlier it depends on the character. There surely are the ones that love to be pet.

I've certainly never seen a selkie like it before but I had an all grey (they called it blue) one before and it had the same floof style. I miss him so much, he was such a good boy. I highly recommend bantam selkies to anyone--they're just the sweetest things!
