Description
I love bugs - most often, I like drawing them, looking at them, admiring their shape and colour. This one attracted my attention because of the shiny wings. I wanted to test myself, and this is how this #TinyTuesday drawing came to be. I think I will do more of these bud studies, as I really find them enjoyable. What do you think, do you like insects? Any favourites (please don't say spiders, I am terrified by them)?Related content

I am not the only one that is extremely interested in bugs! I like dragonflies, they're very elegant.

Dragonflies are on my list, they just require a lot of time. So soon enough, I will try to draw some.

It's cursed!! Haha joking, as usual your painting style is lovely. This one feels very smudgy, I think?
I'm generally not a fan of bugs, but, umm, I actually do like spiders...

Hahaha... I had forgotten about the link between scarabs and the stories of Ancient Egypt. Funny enough, I think I haven't used any smudge tool at all on this one. )

I like him ! I love a lot of bugs too like beetles, butterflies, dragonflies and bees.
(Spiders are not my favorites but I personally find them fascinating.)

Dragonflies are so graceful and fast. And their set of four wings and how they move is really fascinating. Spiders evoke a deep fear in me. Not fear as I would fear a reasonably dangerous animal, but something unexplainable, that makes me angsty for a long time after an encounter with one. I used to carry a can of bug spray with me a while back when I used to live in a home that always got infested with new spiders every day. I would come home and have it ready in case there was a new and especially big one on the hallway to my studio apartment. I am a horrible person, I know, but I can't cope with them for some reason.

No no ! It's understable ! I fear some of them too (especially the big hairy ) but for some reason I'm still fascinated (as long as they aren't too close). I read somewhere that it was an instinctive fear (like the fear of snakes).
Oh and I totally agree for the dragonflies (yeah, I know I'm easily fascinated by many animals (and by many things more generally)).

A sense of wonder is always a good thing, especially if it sparks curiosity and a will to learn.

Dragonflies, mayflies, crickets, ladybugs &other beetles, social insects (ants, termites, bees), &I'm sorry (not really) but I actually do like spiders (not insects though, double checked just now). There is much to like about this strange extraterrestrial-looking beingsΒ Β
p.s. after skimming through your gallery a bit, I find myself to be very hungryΒ Β

I thought I remembered something from biology classes from long ago about spiders not being insects, but I wasn't sure, and was too lazy to fact-check, apparently... Sorry about that. I knew there was something special about arachnids, but I always thought they are part of a different family/class (?) due to the number of legs and dismissed it.
I find these creatures to be really awe-inspiring too, and I think they are so different from larger creatures on our planet that I should really go deeper into studying them... To think that at some point there were dragonflies with a wingspan of more than 1 m.
