Description This 8-page tutorial walks you through the inner workings of OBJ files and explains what can feasibly be changed in the source code by the end user, and how. There is also some discussion of more theoretical and experimental possibilities.

Coverage: Working directly with OBJ files in a text editor to troubleshoot and tweak. Includes multiple objects, materials, material groups, and shading domains. Crimson Editor (free) is used for the edits and UV Mapper Classic (free) is used to view the results.
Target audience: Advanced beginner to intermediate 3D modeller, no programming experience.
