I remember traveling that road when I was younger, the valley was full of fog so it was like driving on the edge of the world, amazing! Great shot and thanks for dusting off that memory.

They're always blue, that's for sure...there's never a 100% clear day in the valley...some of that is due to smog, I'm told.

The funny part is, the air seemed very fresh, cool, and sweet up there! There was no hint of smelly smog!

Thanks! It is scary, Edie. I have a profound fear of heights, especially when looking over an edge. I took care to stay several feet back from the edge when I took this...it helped to sit down, too.

I'm terrified of cliff edges, too. I only went so far, and left several feet between myself and the drop-off. Some kids were jumping around up on the rocks that day, and there was quite a stiff breeze blowing....I was scared that they would fall off, but they didn't. Thank God!
