Using a shard of broken window she cuts the butterfly from her dress, giving it the life and freedom she could only dream of...Been working on this one for a while... I quite like how it turned out mostly. I know the BG perspective is off because while I was drawing it I taught myself proper 1 point, hopefully I can implement that better in another picture. It was really fun playing with lighting and making the character lit with the secondary light which has bounced up off the floor from the window stream.

I feel like this is a very sad and selfless picture. Sometimes when we are trapped in our own self turmoil, we want to drag others down with us to keep us company. But this girl has made the definite decision to let the other go, even if it means she'll suffer alone. Such a beautiful piece, I will not be sad that I've started to watch you, I know that much.

This is so beautiful... and I love the background story, how she brought the butterfly to life and to take joy at it getting away from this place.
The one thing I see as a problem is how the sunlight is a perfect circle on the ground, but the rays are slanted so the circle would be more an oval. But it's only a small thing, and the rest is really good.

I love all of your picture, and I have a tip for you. When I look at this picture, I see that there is no shadow from her arm on the ground. If it is suppose to be like that, then it looks great! - But remember your shadows.

I actually left the shadow out intentionally because it interfered with the butterfly cut out, and made the message less clear. I really should have planned better at an earlier stage! D'oh, good work on spotting though
