Using a shard of broken window she cuts the butterfly from her dress, giving it the life and freedom she could only dream of...Been working on this one for a while... I quite like how it turned out mostly. I know the BG perspective is off because while I was drawing it I taught myself proper 1 point, hopefully I can implement that better in another picture. It was really fun playing with lighting and making the character lit with the secondary light which has bounced up off the floor from the window stream.

This is my first comment! I LOVE this piece. It's incredibly sad, but it's also incredibly beautiful. I like how her eyes match her dress, that's a nice touch. Several people have mentioned that there's not shadow on for her arm in the light. While I don't know if you did this on purpose, I like it. I mean, she cut a butterfly shape from her dress, and it's flying away free, so not having the shadow almost lends a magical quality to the light. Like if you're in it, you're free from all restraint to the earth, like a shadow. It's beautiful, and I love it.
