Description Peri - in Persian mythology - spirits, something similar between angels and jinn (the evil spirits), as a rule, they are closer to demonic than to divine beings. Associated with witchcraft, idolatry, magic, they can turn into anyone and anything, in Zoroastrianism they symbolize hostile forces of nature. In the late Islamic era, the peri were romanticized and associated with fairies.
In the picture - the Iranian eunuch in the image of peri And yes, it's HE, not she!

Beautifully drawn. Are you sure it is a bloke? If it is, what do the women look like?

Can't you read? The description says: it is a EUNUCH, eunuchs are males, but their body grows very feminine because of the lack of testosterone. And some women look like women, some do not. That's it. Nothing in the world is all black and white.

Dear lady, I do believe you have a minor obsession with eunuchs.

First of all, what do you mean?

It's not an insult, I apologise if it seemed so. It's just a recurring theme in several works.

You know, nobody depict eunuchs, although they deserve much better. Their names are forgotten, their great deeds are forgotten, their beauty are forgotten. Now people think that eunuchs are pathetic servants in harems.
Who knows the names of at least ten glorious eunuchs in the history of mankind?
Now most artists are literally obsessed with female characters and female heroines. This is certainly good, but only when there will be an equal attitude towards men and eunuchs, as well as LGBT+ characters and others non-binary people.

I think that's the first time I've ever seen the words glorious and eunuch used together in the same sentence to describe the latter. Who knows indeed, the names of ten unwilling participants in one of the most barbaric acts in the history of mankind. The act of making a eunuch was not voluntary, in any way, in any culture that practiced it. Beautiful or not their beauty was born of horrific sexual assault. Eunuchs were administrators, prime ministers, officiates of imperial will and much more than mere harem servants, simultaneously though there was nothing glorious about their creation. People absolutely should celebrate the beauty of men, you kind of lose me on the celebration of the beauty of eunuchs, though. I apologize for obviously offending you, you may lovely works of art, please continue to do so at your discretion.Β

Best Regards,

Many of eunuchs were glorious and deserve to be praised.
Zheng He - a great Chinese mariner, explorer, diplomat, fleet admiral and warrior - a eunuch.
Cai Lun - great Chinese inventor and politician. He is traditionally regarded as the inventor of paper and the papermaking process - also a eunuch.
Symeon the New Theologian - a saint eunuch inΒ  Eastern Orthodox church of Byzantine Empire.
Narses - one of the great generals in the service of the Byzantine Emperor Justinian I - a eunuch.
As the book "The Eunuch in Byzantine History and Society" by Shaun Tougher says "some individuals were eunuchs by birth or accident" so we cannot say who exactly was THAT type of eunuch either slave and castrated by force or by own wish.
So what you say that "The act of making a eunuch was not voluntary, in any way, in any culture " is absolutely wrong. Β
Gazanfer Aga - a very powerful and influential eunuch in Ottoman Empire. His power reached to an extent that he became the only intermediary between Sultan and the outer Palace. Ane he became eunuch by his own WILL at the early age, along with his brother Cafer he agreed to castration to serve Sultan and get the power. They both never regretted being eunuchs, while Gazanfer gave interviews that he was a proud Italian and Muslim, and had a honorable title "hadim" - eunuch.
So I'd note on "the most barbaric acts in the history of mankind" - is actually genocide, not castration at all, especially when it's by consent of the person.
What about the Galli? eunuch worshippers of Goddess Cybele - Magna Mater, in ancient Rome? They all castrated themselves by will. Because self-castration was considered a sacred rite as a sacrifice to Goddess.
Some eunuchs were born this way:
Favorinus of Arelate - was an intersex Roman sophist and philosopher who flourished during the reign of Hadrian and the Second Sophistic, he is described as a eunuch (Ρὐνοῦχος) by birth.
Throughout centuries eunuchs served in the Muslim holy shrines of Mecca and Medina.
"eunuch as imagining himself to be both male and female. Within the sacred space of the "haram" (sacred place) of Madina, the eunuch is also given both male and female qualities. He is "like a kind father and a compassionate mother to the ... the eunuch is also a figure of power, endowed with a very "masculine" ability to inspire fear".Β  Eunuchs there were "privileged people in Madina and treated with great respect" According to historian Ibn Jubayr the eunuchs "chief is known as the shaykh al-khuddam, and he has the position of one of the grand amirs" (emir is the title equal to Prince).
"There are also a number of black Arabs there [in the sanctuary of Madina]. They are entirely castrated and have no shame of their condition]. These people are called "Hadim," and wealthy, noble lords render them honor." (Shaun Marmon, Eunuchs and Sacred Boundaries in Islamic Society)
See, if they were forcefully castrated they would feel shame about their castration, but they are not, which means in the aforementioned case the castration was their will and consent.
If you ever heard about hijra or khusra - in ancient times that was a name for eunuchs in India, Pakistan & Afghanistan region. Nowadays it is also a designation for transsexuals, gays and feminine men (in folk circles they say "they don't have penis"). In ancient India hijras were eunuchs who commited a ritual castration and could also serve in harems and at other official work in palace or house of nobility. In modern Pakistan shemales are called "Khwajah" - it was a name for eunuchs palace guards in medieval North India. (Studies in the Political and Administrative Systems in Ancient and Medieval India)
But all khwajah-saras, hijras and khusras are castrated by their own will, since they had "feminine" traits from childhood and considered their nature "given by God". That's what I also heard from hijras who say "God made me this way".
Because if a normal boy who would want to be a manly man would be castrated forcefully he'd be ashamed all his life and will try to live as a masculine man, never accepting the fact that he's a castrati.
"The eunuchs are shown to be not just a minor adjunct to a government of civil servants and military officers, but a fully developed third branch of the Ming administration that participated in all of the most essential matters of the dynasty. The veil of condemnation and jealousy imposed on eunuchs by the compilers of official history is pulled away to reveal a richly textured tapestry."
The last highlighted line indicates that mostly in historical text negative accounts are made due to jealousy of historians for the uscess of eunuchs, that's why they call them "low class",Β  "slave", "victim" etc. Just to diminish them in the eyes of the an ignorant reader.
"hundreds of thousands of Chinese boys from least favored classes willingly or unwillingly joined the ranks of castrati.
The Eunuchs in the Ming Dynasty. (Shih-shan Henry Tsai)

So I will conclude that some became eunuchs by own will - that is their choice, some not - and that's sad I will not deny that. But let's not make it that big as you did. It's not much sadder than most marriages in ancient times, which was in general arranged without the will of the girl or a boy. But it will be strange to hate on any artist or writer who will portray a romantic story about marriage and love in old times.
In other words, before you bring your judgements please study history. If not, first ask someone who is good at it.
Best regards
Develv
