The Territory of Venezuela or Venezuela Territory is an organized incorporated territory of the United States. It was annexed in 2070 following the 2068 invasion of Venezuela by a United States-led coalition that toppled the government of Hugo Chávez II. The conflict continued for much of the next decade as an insurgency emerged to oppose the occupying forces and the post-invasion Venezuelan government.
Venezuela's territorial history includes a period from 2071 to 2074—during the Bolivarian Insurgency—when the region was placed under martial law. Civilian government was dissolved and a military governor was appointed.
PetróRico was a branch of Imperium Industries operating in the Venezuelan oil fields following the American take-over in 2068. PetróRico oil flowed across the Pan-American Pipeline from Caracas, Venezuela to Austin, Texas. PetróRico is so powerful its logo became the official coat of arms of Venezuela.
