Panel two... oh my. Lestrade should not look so damn yummy.
Oh, and the rest of the comic is great, too. Only now I want a back-popping. Grrr.

I loved this page, and I laughed out loud at the way the maid's expression got mirrored in the owl's in the last panel. They both look so scandalized!

Hmm, I wonder if Lestrade isn't ready to be so casual yet or if there's a reason he wants to keep his shirt on.

Oh hello! I could do with one of those.
Very nice idea. The maid listening from outside is a lovely touch~ nn

Me too! I've realised I could do w a whole Watson of my own.
She is wondering what's going on with those city folks...strange people!

I can't wait for the next page.
I was referred here by another deviant, and I'm glad that she did. ^___^

It reminded me acutely of Nakata "massaging" Hoshino's back in "Kafka on the Shore."
obtuse reference, I know, but it reminded me *so strongly*

I have yet to read "Kafka on the shore", it's on my 'want to- but prolly won't have time to-read list'. I'm curious about the "" though so its odds just got a whole lot better.

Well, it's fantastic - surreal and hard to understand (heaven knows I couldn't explain what it's "about" to anyone) but definitely worth a read or six!
(But I know how it is when your list of books-to-read is just impossibly long. It's gotten to the point where I'm scared to set foot in a library or bookstore because of my poor commitment issues )

I thought I could make a shortcut by Googling 'back massage' and the names but no.. so this book has moved to the top section of The List, esp since I read some good reviews in my search for the massage.
Haha, I hear that! I have given up the library altogether now, only buy pockets cause they're cheaper in the long run = no overdue fees.

Well, it's a very short scene towards the end of the novel. No big spoilers; Hoshino's a trucker and Nakata gives him one heck of a massage that he thinks will kill him, but it ends up making him feel great. ^^ You should definitely read it, it's typical, surreal Murakami.
That's a good plan. Overdue fees are the bane of my existence. I think I may be allergic to librarians.

"Les" heehee.
Okay, Devilry? This was one of the most awesome ideas I have ever seen in S.H. fanwork. Having Lestrade's turned-in foot create an unbalance and then Watson helping relieve it is EPIC WIN!!

Devilry In reply to Tristan-the-Dreamer [2009-06-11 22:46:38 +0000 UTC]
Yup, Watson wants to balance the use of "John" with something...he should really just ask what "G" stands for!
Thanks, glad you like it! They're helping each other along: comfort vs physical healing.
