Thanks you! Just a question: does new vertices inherit weights from their "parents"? Let me explain... what if i create a new subdivision between elbow and shoulder, near the shoulder where more than a bone are involved in weights? Does new vertices have an average weight value?

Devious-Bunny In reply to Riveda1972 [2015-09-02 23:16:48 +0000 UTC]

I can't remember and can't check at the moment because I'm not currently using my PC, I think the new vertices might inherit weights but you'll have to check to make sure.

If they don't, you can use the transfer weight plugin to easily have PMX Editor configure the weights for you.

Riveda1972 In reply to Devious-Bunny [2015-09-03 22:02:54 +0000 UTC]

Yes I've tried today: adding new vertices they (new ones) looses weight settings so the best way should be to save the weights BEFORE starting to add new vertices and reloading them after done.
Perphaps you could edit your tutorial or add this suggestion in the description

BTW, I encountered an annoying issue using Transfer Weight Plugin. I'm Italian and italian MS Windows language character for decimal separator is "," (comma) while comma is also used in the txt file to save the weight settings (as in most of comma-separated formats).

Users who haven't "." (point) as decimal separator MUST change this Windows setting BEFORE using the plugin. They can do that opening Windows Control Panel -> Language Settings -> Advanced: change "," to "." as decimal separator. If not, you get a System.FormatException error while reloading your txt with the previously saved weight setting.

MMD-Anime-Bunny In reply to nena-linda-pink [2017-05-11 11:34:18 +0000 UTC]

By going into my pc settings for languages, advanced and changed it to American. Then it'll read "." as what we use ","

and another question
Is there a way to duplicate the same subdivision across the body, left and right side? Example: I want to subdivide the same faces near the shoulder but I want the same subdivision also on the other arm. Is there a way to exactly duplicate the same operation on both sides?

thank you! but how do I remove vertices on pmx?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Devious-Bunny In reply to MilkyHero [2015-08-13 12:14:09 +0000 UTC]

There is a way to do this. Puro has done a tutorial explaining how to remove invisible vertices;

You could probably use this same method to remove normal vertices (basically the same process but not doing it to invisible vertices, going to (E), (V) then (R) should still remove them), but I imagine it would add holes to your model causing you to have to re-add the faces to fill in any gaps.
If you don't know how to add new faces, see this tutorial:

If the model has a UV map, and the mapping gets distorted, you should be able to fix it using the UV Map plug-in.
There are tutorials on the plug-in by Trackdancer (as well as a download link in the Artist Description):
Β

I hope this has helped.
