This is spectacular!
At a first glance, this reminds me of something that Tim Burton or the creator of Salad Fingers would concoct. It's absolutely brilliant and really drew my attention. The style, in general, is something that is entirely unique from just about anything that I have seen in the year I have been here on this site. Not only that, but the colors are oddly smooth and appealing to the eye, which also adds a layer of mystery and abstractness to the whole piece. Not only that, but the shading is really cool. It adds a form of depth and form to everything; it helps to establish the piece. And, my final standing remark is that the people in general were drawn very well.
I do have some criticisms regarding this piece. I believe that the color and brightness, despite the nature of this abstract piece, could be adjusted to better suit the work intended. I say this because I think that you could make the piece a little brighter or perhaps darker to set the mood to something cheery or otherwise morbid. I also want to mention the brightness and colors because, I'm not sure if it was me, but the colors seemed a little hard to distinguish. That could be fixed with a little darker shading of the lines. Other than that, everything else was perfect!
Overall, I love how mysterious and alluring this piece is. It constitutes a factor of mystery that is established mainly by the unique style and excellent shading. I think though that the colors are a little hard to distinguish in parts of the faces, which can be easily fixed by some darker outlining or shading in the colors that are similar. Other than that, you did a fantastic job! I look forward to seeing more from you!

Wow, thank you very much for the amazing feedback, I am extremely flattered and I wholeheartedly agree!
Two things though, in my ( ) defense - one is that I used to work on this old laptop that was extremely dark, and I used to only draw with a mouse, this drawing is from that period, so right now I can't help but shake my head at the obvious mistakes I made in the past due to my crappy hardware
Regarding color, you are absolutely correct. I have attempted to correct it in the past, but since I no longer use the same shading technique, I just abandoned the effort, to be honest. You have a nice eye for color, by the way, I love it when people understand color theory and its power.

Oh, I see what you mean. My computer is also pretty dark, which makes some art difficult to try. XD
Well, at least you tried and that's what matters!

Thank you very much! Do you think this color palette suits the theme in the drawing though? I have since changed my mind about it a bit, to be honest, I wonder what you think?

Uch difficult to say for me I'm not an artist in any case. Maybe colors could be richer, but I always think what the artist who created it wanted to express.
Because you create from your imagination and you have your goal set in your mind. So for me to say how it should look seems inappropriate. :}}
Cause if you stayed with these colors maybe you didn't want to make the image look more darker or brighter. So, I like how it looks now, colors for me don't mix up in this picture, but if you have some doubts and want to create more specific mood I think just go and experiment with darker colors.

I have seen your work and I would respectfully disagree - you are an artist, because you make art, simple as that
Yeah, I agree with you on the points regarding brightness/color - I didn't want to make a specifically dark or bright (good or evil, so to speak) image, I always like to leave some sort of an ambiguity in my works, so that their narrative is more open-ended than some examples of more Gothic art I have seen here. Then again, I personally don't believe in good isolated from evil, or evil isolated from good, that's why I aim to make my 'villains' and 'heroes' more ambiguous.

Och thank you, no one has ever called me like that before.
As I mentioned this drawing is purely fruit of your imagination so it can't have right or wrong decisions, especially when you don't even try to reproduce the real world.
That is why I'll repeat myself once again ) if you chose colors of similar tones it is your choice and for me it looks good, I like this image the way it is now.

I like how it's both creepy, yet nice to look at.
Also it sort of reminds me of the mafia...idk if it's because of the one big guy that makes it seem like that or not XD
good job though.

Yeah, it's a kind of a sequel to my first drawing titled simply 'Traditions', and both have been influenced by Mafia culture a bit, as well as Mexican Calaveras and Film Noir.. I kind of like drawing dark things that are not too menacing at the same time, makes it much more interesting than simply drawing a grim thing that is also.. grim XD
Thank you very much!

This is a really interesting piece Devi. The overall color palette works well, providing a subdued mood. The added texturing on the faces is an interesting addition, and helps to create an unsettling quality. Overall, very effective.
Keep up the great work.

Wow, thanks man!
This one is actually a sort of a sequel to an older work of mine, called Traditions, Part One, as a continuation of the theme, but I wanted to create a grimmer mood, while still keeping the cheery tone.

You're welcome.
I checked out the other piece and this is definitely grimmer, but also a considerable improvement too. So, well done.
