Mark Of Darkness Ch 1 Part 1, First Page (Part 1 was in a traditional manga/comic layout):
HERE IS THE LAST PART OF THE PROLOGUE, WHERE YOU CAN ALSO SEE THIS ILLUSTRATION at the end!

There we go, the prologue is now officially FINISHED!
Just this last panel took me about two days only to figure out the best composition/lighting, especially because it's my first complete illustration with backgrounds and so on, and since it was SSOOO important i just needed to take my time and make sure it would have been a very nice picture.
This image doesn't need any explanations, the lights simulate the fight between good and evil: evil coming from the earth, something made of matter and associated with all kinds of corruption (which is why hell has been placed on the ground), and Good coming from the sky, which has a much more spiritual essence since it isn't linked to matter in general and hence isn't linked to corruption (the reason paradise is put there).
In between there's, at least that's how i see it, chaos. Chaos in its true meaning, not the evil meaning that's commonly attributed to it (probably because everything that has no order isn't rational, hence it's wrong).
My character, Khayos, as the play with the name implies with a similar pronunciation and letters to the word "Chaos", is the personification of this chaos.
Not good, not evil.
Chaos.
The middle finger is basically his symbol, since chaos is just there, it just exists, and doesn't give a shit about anything because it will still be there. :]
Which is why the sentence "a middle finger to everything else".
Hope this reveals something more about this particular character, which i hope will keep you interested as Mark of Darkness keeps going, and with the prologue ended you should already have a pretty much good idea of how important the definition and the boundary between good and evil will be in the comic.
Hope you enjoy this illustration and his design as well, it's my first illustration and i gave this my 101%!
The true mark of darkness is starting soon, stay tuned guys if you got hooked because this is just the tip of the iceberg, i have so many ideas for future chapters!
Please let me know if you find any typo or mistake in general, i'm italian and english is just my second language so it's very possible that i made more than one mistake.
I promised you an epic ending for this prologue, hope i succeeded!
