Wow Don this is really nice! tight crop or not...I have seen them many times but never with a "meal" on the wing... most of them in my area are real spooky and never let you get close to them.

wow! i caught a hawk hovering then diving the other day but i really couldn't see what it got...this is really a cool view tho....kestrels are so hard for me to get

yes they are...here mostly they sit on fence posts and fly just out of range to the next post all the time...
