When he couldn't stay in Moscow, he moved to Berlin. His first job was to assassinate Kolbe, but Kolbe noticed him, sneaked to his back and told that it is a shame to kill such a talented assassin. Instead of killing Brandt, Kolbe made him to one of his soldiers. And Brandt could kill anyone he wanted, and Kolbe made it look like they were jews or Soviets.
