'on this carousel we go around and around, but we never learn to let go of those painful memories.'

Whether we're talking about personal memories, memories of a generation, or memories of an era. Sure, we like to look back at some things, but there are other things that we're better off leaving behind. Things like hate and grudges and disdain.

The piece went on a ride of its own, somewhat. 8D I did several sketches, decided not to do it, came back and did more sketches, put together a bunch of pieces in photoshop, went to photoshop with a dark color palette in mind, made a light-hearted palette instead, and then eventually changed it back to the dark and slightly sinister idea I originally had. There were some other factors that I kept switching on, too, like smooth and refined versus rough and gestural quality. Especially in the carousel animals, since I don't have a good grasp of their anatomy...

I leave the rest up to you to interpret!
