Richland Townhomes owner Moses "Moe" Howard is named in honor of actor and comedian Moses Harry Horowitz (1897-1975), who used "Moe Howard" as his stage name during his long run as the senior member of the Three Stooges. You know -- the one with the dark mop hair who was their nominal leader, and was always bullying the rest?
Mr. Howard is being played by the Host from Duke Nukem Forever. You've seen me use him previously as the nightclub owner in the Resident Sleuths episode "The Tale of the Torch Singer."
I used deexie's stock Big Office set for Mr. Howard's in the skyscraper where his real estate business is located. You've seen me use it before, as Mickey's original office during the first few episodes of Resident Sleuths.
If you'll recall, the issue of how Larry got to keep Princess as a pet after he picked her up as a stray figured prominently in the second half of Autumn Spring's very first episode, "The New Neighbor." Mr. Howard (then unnamed) had to intervene with Mickey to keep his townhomes manager from forcing Larry to take the poor little kitten to the local animal shelter, as having it was a violation of his lease (no pets allowed). Mr. Howard made a verbal exception for Larry as "an experiment," since he had been such a good renter over the years.
The bit about Mr. Howard staring at his wife's picture and then suddenly deciding NOT to go home was inspired by my watching an old episode of the TV version of Amos and Andy. The Kingfish loves his wife dearly but hates his mother-in-law, yet she loves her mom, and insists on keeping a picture of her in their home. Every time the Kingfish looks at that picture of his mother-in-law, it makes him visibly sick. You've seen this same joke used in different ways in other shows and productions.
