Later and more accurate retail concept art for the next to last scene in Chapter 11, after Sofia's actions result in the untotenvirus being released inside the Alpenfestung and spreading quickly through its air circulation system, causing everyone inside who has not been immunized against it or has some form of natural resistance to turn into mindless, bloodthirsty zombies within a half-hour. This later image is closer to what actually happens in the novel, and also has the advantage of having three of our four heroes present in camera -- Jack (left), Gary (center), and Jimmy (right). Caliban is off to one side and conveniently off-camera, although he's present in the scene, because I didn't then and still have been unable to get my hands on a 3D character model that depicts the mutant monster Caliban as I envisioned him for the novel. You'll just have to use your own imaginations, folks.
