COMMENTS:
In the original short story what's about to happen took place in a back alley on the surface in the ruined city, but I rewrote this to better work with the Fallout series sets I'm using for my web comic adaptation.
Everybody is speaking in low or hushed tones. That's why I'm oversized text balloons with a smaller sized typeface than I usually use, and why there's a large empty border between the text proper and the text balloon boundaries.
"Monitor Gizzard" was first used in TOS "The Man Trap." It later became one of the standard TOS BGM bumps for whenever our heroes either had an interesting development take place or were about to plan their next move. It's short, but you'll know it when you hear it. Here's a YouTube link to the soundtrack from "The Man Trap." "Monitor Gizzard" begins at 04:48 and ends at 05:00.
