Sorry for the long delay in getting back to this, folks.

Pretty much the same as the original short story save I added the last bit at the end about McCoy yelling in alarm and raising his weapon but not firing (for fear of hitting Spock).

I couldn't find suitable models to properly depict the scissorbuck herd, so I grabbed the first gazelle model I could get my hands on, posed it just high enough for its head and antlers to stick out of the tall grass, then copied it several times. My apologies for my lack of skills and proper models there, but hopefully the suggestion is there.

I had originally planned for the BGM for the scene where Spock goes after the owltiger to be "Surprise!"/"Battle Stations" from the TAS soundtrack, as those tracks played back-to-back are what you hear in TAS "Yesteryear" when the older Spock winds up fighting the le'matya (Vulcan tiger) in order to save his younger self and his pet sehlat I'Chaya. After I thought about it, however, I decided not to draw the parallel between the two musically and went with a TOS soundtrack BGM choice instead. "The Sneaky Commodore" is one of the most underutilized dramatic/high action/fighting themes in TOS, and gets its name from the scene in TOS "The Doomsday Machine" in which the half-crazed Commodore Decker jumps the security guard assigned to him and manages to overpower him. Here's a YouTube link; "The Sneaky Commodore" starts at 01:10 and runs until 01:53. Now take the web comic page as a suggestion and imagine Spock and the owltiger suddenly charging at each other for the inevitable clash once the intro finishes and the high octane part of the BGM kicking into gear even as they do, with the BGM continuing as we go to the next page and these two unstoppable forces collide for their showdown ....
