Description
This is another entry into my Creatures of Zaldor series. As Zaldor is a stand in for North and South America in my fantastical world of Terra, the monsters found on Zaldor are mostly derived from North and South American myths as opposed to European or Asian myths as seen in most fantasy stories. This is a picture I made of my version of the Mothman, a 20th century cryptid from the US, mostly centering around Point Pleasant, West Virginia. Equally described as both an alien visitor and a supernatural demon, the mysterious Mothman first showed up in 1966, and was said to be connected to the collapse of the city's Silver Bridge, somehow predicting or even causing the disaster. Though called Mothman, some reports say that the creature resembles a large bat or bird. One source said it would have been nicknamed Batman if that name wasn't already taken. What is agreed upon about its appearance are its large wings capable of flight, vaguely man sized shape and large, glowing eyes.
In Zaldor, the Mothman is a mysterious humanoid creature with a gargoyle like body and glowing, yellow eyes. Though not really insect like, the beasts still took on the moniker of Mothman, and haunt various locations at night, rarely seen in the day. Though often seen as invading spirits, it was eventually proven that these creatures are mortal and corporeal, but they still may have a supernatural origin. It is said Mothmen are sentient and capable of speech, but rarely communicate. It is even said that they are capable of predicting disastrous events, though some say they often try to set to steer the future toward its proper fate if it has been set of course by divination or other precognition, ensuring that history happens as it's supposed to be, no matter how grim that future may be.

Hmm, now that you mention it, you're right, he does. Beyond the colours, he is pretty close. Perhaps I was thinking of it when I came up with my design for it .

Nice! The mothman looks like he or she could have story with any of your characters. Like Rina or Lara encounter the creature.

Well, I could have them encounter Mothmen, especially if it has something do with the fate of one of the characters and one of them trying to ensure a not so good fate occurs to one of them and trying to fight against it. But thanks, I'm glad you like the picture then.
