Description
This is a picture of a Lioplurodon, a very large and ferocious sea reptile from the age of Dinosaurs.I gave it a blusih hide with darker stipes and a white underbelly, because this acts as a sort of camoflauge. Rather then blend with the ground or plants, the Lioplurodon blends in with the ocean itself, looking darker against the dark sea when looking down from above, and looking lighter against the sunlight coming from above when looking up from above. Lots of sea creatures use this form of camoflauge, like Orcas and Penguins.
I put this pic in this catagory because I mean for this Lioplurodon to appear in my D&D game as a massive underwater foe. The evil shark-like Sahuagin have stolen a female Lioplurodon's offspring and framed a tribe of Merfolk as the culprites using false scents to confuse the offspring. The Lioplurodon is now running rampage in the Merfolk's village looking for its younge, and it must be stopped. The PCs are employed to deal with the Lioplurodon, but to simply kill the beast would not only be unjust, but the Lioplurodon was the only thing keeping Krakens, Sea Wolves, Megalodon's and other more mallicious entities at bay. The best method would be to rescue the captured juvinile Lioplurodon from the Sahuagin so that the mother would be appeased and another generation of Lioplurodon inhabits the region to keep the natural balance of things. Of course, Sahuagin warriors, Shark companions and their allies all protect the youngster, as they are keeping it alive only as a delicacy to serve to their high priestess.
so yeah, enjoy the pic then.

Well, we will see just where the evidence reveals it's actual size to be. While it's fun to imagine it as a huge, 50 foot long sea predator, it is very probable that it was smaller rather then larger. However, the version of Liopleurodon seen here is indeed quite large and easily meets or exceeds 25 meters, being one of the most fearsome animals in its setting. However, being a fantasy setting, it is only fair to exaggerate its size.

Very nice drawing. I remember seing this species on 'Walking with Dinosaurs' back in 1999. A very cruel and vicious beast. Nice work.
