Personality: At first glance Jethro is a polite, intelligent, powerful dog. He has a noble, calm air about him that isn't imposing, but instead gives the notion that he is a protector. It's obvious from the way he moves that he has experience and training, even if it's not entirely formal and thorough. He has a strong sense of right and wrong, and struggles with issues that lie between. He is precise and takes orders from no one other than Vendetta. He can be headstrong and challenge the other commanders if he feels their orders are wrong, and he can be quite vocal in his displeasure. There is always an air of classiness about him that seems to have formed from thin air, but it is the content power of a young but seasoned warrior, a dog in his prime with little to fear. He is overall a good character that tries to help out those around him, especially lower rankers.
History: Jethro was born a stray. He merely states he is from humble beginnings, but he knew nothing but hunger pains for his first few weeks. His mother was young and struggled to provide for her large litter, and ultimately she had to make the decision to save her strongest pups and allow the weaker ones to die. This hardened her and while Jethro was able to eat from then on, his mother spent little time with her pups aside from feeding them. When her few remaining puppies reached eight weeks, she simply didn't return from hunting. Confused and driven by hunger, the small pup left their den and began to wander aimlessly. From this point the details become sketchy, and Jethro is unwilling to offer details. The short version is that he was taken in by a commanding officer in the army, and his men grew to love the little dog and raised him alongside their own canines. He drifted from master to master, learning what he could and being taught by their dogs also. He learned bomb-sniffing, schutzhund, tracking, search-and-rescue, and became a bit of a mascot for their company. The day before they were to be shipped out and Jethro left behind, one of their dogs fell mysteriously ill. It was Jethro's fault, but a complete accident that still makes him sick to his stomach with guilt. He was picked as a replacement and went overseas with his master, and was incredible proud of himself for going that far. He served a solid month before his master died in an attack which left him injured and with PTSD. He managed to get on an internet adoption site, and a rich couple paid to have him shipped back over to the states to be their companion. The three year old dog wouldn't play, hardly interacted, and hid under beds when they watched movies and had company. He dug a hole in the backyard and began to wander, always returning home but gradually drifting further and further and sometimes staying away for days at a time. The couple filled his hole, and he dug it again. They poured concrete around the perimeter of their yard, and he began to climb the fence. One day when he was out and about he ran into a little Dutch Shepherd, literally, and she took a good bite out of his cheek. He just flinched and held his ground, which confused the female and made her halt her attack. She questioned Jethro extensively, and all she could get out of him was that he was miserable and lacked purpose. She invited him to join the Di Ordine, and he accepted. When he proved to be a formidable warrior and useful character, he climbed up the ranks and is now a commander. He still suffers from PTSD and is unwilling to get too close to anyone. Vendetta still only has a vague idea of his past, and as of late his mood swings have become more intense as the conflict between the packs picks up.
Strengths: Experience and training. Jethro had some of the best of the best teaching him while he lived with humans, giving him a big advantage in fights and even in hunting and being stealthy. He comes from two very intelligent breeds, and has good observation skills. His long coat keeps him comfortable in most weather.
Neutral: His size. He is of an average height and weight, which makes him quick and agile, but it's not uncommon for his enemies to be larger than him.
Weaknesses: His PTSD. Loud noises and airplanes scare him, and he's barely learned to cope with trains and honking horns. He has good days and bad, and he tries to overcome his fear which can lead to various injuries in his panic or attempts to remain collected and not flee. He has many scars, but most are hidden by his fur.
Reasons for Joining: Vendetta's initiative and cause plucked his heart strings. There's no way he'll get revenge for his master, so helping her is the next best thing.
