Description
UPDATE: i finall fixed the light problem that this had. The new thing is the blue lit part of the upper planet. Funny that it took me over a year to decide to fix itFull View Highly Recommended, as usual.
So here it is, the final version of Cosmic Daylight.
As many of you can see, this one includes my two styles of Science Fiction graphics: the realistic one, and the not-so-realistic one.
What i dont like about it: considering that im no master when it comes to 3d modeling, i think that the satellite isnt that impressive. but still think that its not too shabby, and its a nice addition to the whole piece.
im also not very happy with the blue planet. i really need to learn to map (texturize) a bit better, but i think it looks better than plain blue ball (No, those arent clouds, thats ice on the surface, btw).
I think particle systems are fun, and i thank *agarash for teaching me the basics.

I took a few suggestions from the Close Up i submitted about a week ago:
change the shadow in the (red) planet: done
more color to the whole piece: done
more stars: done
so thats it for now, i really enjoyed making this, i got to experiment with a lot of settings, which is the only way to learn and have fun with graphics.
Now i know what to apply for my next work

Alright i believe that i need to explain a bit about the "satellite"
its not a satellite, its a deep space telescope.
we all know that satellites done have boosters like that, but who said that this picture is supposed to be realistic?
also........the "satellite" is going to go through some rough area ahead.....full of rocks.
also it helps balance the colors a little, and it brings some more attention to it.

Thats really sweet, but wouldn't the gravity of the red planet, being so close and so much larger, suck-in the blue planet? And wouldn't the asteroids tear-up the satillite?
I might buy print yay!

Love that telescope thingy and its boosters. The red planet and the particle rings are really good. Recently work on a space image but its not even half as good as yours. Need to learn some serious stuff in 3DS max to be able to achieve something like this. Wouldn't mind if you teach me a trick or two.
Adding this to favs for future reference.

I'm not really in the 3d planet rendering stuff, but the colors, the details and everything in this picture is juste A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! I've got no choice but ing it!

lets start with the top left. the planet is awesome and the color is brilliant. i also love the asteroid belt around the planet...so detailed and so great.
the lower planet is great and contrasts in color nicely to the other red one. the rocks infront of the planet are maybe unrealistic unless theyre in a magnetic force field. maybe theyre about to hit the planet i dont know...but a satelite wouldnt or shouldnt be up there swimmin around with them...waste of tax dollars
apart from the realism i love the satelite...it fits in nicely with the lighting and the style of the other items. great work.

This is seriously qquite nice..all the colors, textures, and positions seems nice. couple of things though..I'm not to fond of those random-like rocks in front on the telescope..and then the rocket on the telescope..is that really realistic? would'nt it have some smaller rockets on the side as to not damage the important parts of the telescope?..ohh well very nice anyways..

the lens flare is absolutely amazing!
and I love the idea of having asteroids on the horizon, its great contrast!
ummmm textures and resolution is a little to be desired (do you save your jpgs at very low compression? you can save it at 10 maximum and still get a nice size)
Also you can actually texture those planets outside a 3d program (which is what I often do) and probably get EVEN more detail and most 3d programs (i wouldnt know )

very nice, the detail is great
as are the colors
the only thing i see that i don't really like is the texture on the 'solar panels' of the telescope.
all in all though its a really great piece of work

This is awesome.
The rings on the red planet are perfect!
2 things i noticed. The sattelite maybe needs to be blurred a little bit. Especially if it's supposed to be moving (my guess from the fire coming out of the back). Also the light behind the blue planet looks more like it's an explosion wave that's coming from the distnace. Maybe this was the plan? Other than that, it looks awesome. I don't think i could even come close.

This is really cool, really nice work.
The only thing IΒ΄m complaining about is the "sattelite", I donΒ΄t like it, it doesnΒ΄t fit in there I think.
I only chose "Like Deviation" because I really love the lighting and the color work; itΒ΄s impressive!
Cool use of particles, too!
