Description
Plaing a bit with shadowrun Returns' Level Editor. This is the first room I threw together. "Ugly but Powerful" really fits the editor - I did some postwork in Photoshop to smooth the roughest edges. However, it's really a nice tool - both to add runs, even entire campaigns, to Shadowrun Returns, but also to just set up location maps for characters and tabletop adventures, if you invest some work (The cut-away south and east wall, for instance, is postwork, though I really wish SRR's Editor had that function from the Sims ...).Anyway, a character of mine lives here! Yes, he's not the most well-off runner there is. Content is (c) Harebrained Schemes and Ghost knows who else (IP ownership with Shadowrun is such a mess).

Shadowrun? I'm playing it right now! It's really a good RPG, it looks like D&D but set in a Earth Dystopian future

Wow - I had no idea you can create something so cool in the editor! To me it seemed so chaotic when I first opened it... I really like what you did with it.

Nifty timing... I see this and tell myself, "I wonder how much SRR costs on Steam?"
Sale, 75% off.
Thanks for the inadvertent ad.

I feel like the gun case that's back is to the coffee table is a little odd, but that's my only thought that even comes close to being classified as a complaint.
I've always loved seeing art in which someone takes something from a program that let's them build something such as the Shadowrun Returns Level Editor and then adds on to it in their own little ways. And this here really feels... Cozy. Makes me wish one of my own characters lived here.

Yeah, it may be a few pixels too far towards the table.
I just love mod editors. I'm waiting for the new tilesets from berlin for my next project with the SRR editor, though.

I like! I've been working with the Shadowrun Returns editor too, though I haven't gone the length of making any custom objects. Got any sort of tutorial or explanation on making the cut-away walls? That would be really handy for a lot of what I'd like to do. I'm also really thankful the Shadowrun Returns wiki is so helpful with tips about the editor- it's a long process to work through it all, though.Β
Have you put together an adventure or campaign that this fits in, out of curiosity?

The walls are postwork in protoshop, but basically, all you'd nee dto do would be create a new object (in the editor, it'S rather easy) and assign it a graphic of a cut wall you made.

You can try shadowrun returns; it also has isometric perspective for maximum nostalgia. The editor is usable, but you should know some coding, and you will need to fiddle with scenes a lot because the graphics clip badly.

Yeah, it doesn't do sandbox very well. Maybe that'll change a bit with the Berlin DLC.

With soem photoshop postwork it'S pretty easy. IT lacks all kinds of items though, and I am currently looking into just making a stuff pack for the enterprising editor user. We need more posters, for instance. More streetsigns. More corp logos. More apllicances. And more generic tech stuff.

Now this is definitely the pad of a shadowrunner. Perhaps one who has a bunch of bad runs but a pad none the less.
I agree with the clipping, I wish they had implemented a way to set 'dominance' so one object is forced on top of another in the editor. Looking forward to more!

Yes, probably. I'll dabble with lights next; maybe this will make things more worthwhile. Also, since I found the editor has a function to create new props, a prop pack is incoming. Most props have two views, which are the same image mirrored horizontally. Easy mode in photoshop.
