Description How Severus Snape was being rescued ('cos he was!!) - I had this scenario in my head for a very long time. Then along comes the Time Turner Contest  by
I could not spend as much time as I wanted on it. But this drawing style popped up out of nowhere, and I went along with it.
I guess the image speaks for itself.

Enjoy!!

31-12-2016  - - -  Happy New Year to all!!

I guessed wrong, well, I had this in my head a lot longer then any new onlooker. So, a bit of background for my version of Severus Snape's rescue...Minerva McGonagall learns from Harry what happens in the boat house pretty much straight after he had watched Snape's memories in the Pensieve, and with the help of the time turner she still got, transports herself together with Horace Slughorn and Neville Longbottom to the boat house; perfectly timed as they just see the Golden Trio leave.
Minerva casts a concealment spell and the current Potion's Master and Herb Expert Student proceed to revive the current Head Master.
I would imagine they kept it very quiet after, so Severus is probably leading a very secret life, very much like a witness Protection Program. Sadly I think not a lot of wizards cared about him anyway, so there won't be any questions. He and other surviving members of the former Order of the Phoenix will continue to monitor the Wizarding world for possible Death Eater activity to this very day! Severus Snape will be 57 years old on the 9th of January 2017.

If only this had really happened, eh?! Still think JKR was a meanie for allowing him to die (especially in such a way) ... Could do with that Time Turner myself though - God, what I would change about the past if I had it!!

And Happy New Year to you too (again!!) I think you must have got my email three times over now!!!

Of course - I know that!! The re-run of DH2 that I watched on TV the other night had clearly made a mistake ... ! (Actually I couldn't watch that bit -- had to go out of the room; now that AR is no longer with us it just didn't seem right)

I can't figure out what's going on in this scene. It looks like Severus is the standing figure on the left, and the face of the levitated figure (being rescued?) appears to be a woman. What's going on? Who are all these people? Where is it happening? It doesn't look like the Shrieking Shack, which is where Severus would have to be rescued. Not criticizing, just very, very puzzled.

See my update - lol. I always thought it pure genius to transfer the killing of Snape to the Boat house - visually so much more interesting. Hogwarts visible in the back ground, the whole ambience. Seeing Nagini strike from behind through those opaque windows, less direct but equally, or even more so, shocking. JK Rowling must have felt similar, or she would never given it the go ahead.

Thanks for the clarification. I have no problem with the boathouse as far as visuals go, and I'm just as glad to lose the horrible symbolism of Severus dying in the same place he was almost murdered by the Marauders as a student, and was assaulted by his own students as a teacher. But the picture is so dark overall that I can't tell who any of the people are or what they're doing.

I like your explanation. I would hope Horace and Minerva would have the wit to suspect that Snape's actions were not what they seemed. And Neville is definitely the only Gryffindor student we know with the basic decency to help save the life of a teacher who didn't flatter him.

And I like your thoughts! Good point about the Shrieking  shack! I have always hated the thought of Severus dying there. I was nearly ecstatic when I saw the movie solution.
I had kept the people in the picture a bit mysterious on purpose, but probably too much so.

I am pretty sure that Minerva sort of realizes in what quandary Severus is, once appointed headmaster. Also Horace, with all his favouritism and tea clubs or whatever, is certainly not stupid. Both must have seen that Severus was trying to keep things reasonable, without being found out, that he wasn't as cruel a headmaster as he could have been. I also like to think, it shows in the Severus /Minerva duel - if she really wanted, she could have disarmed/injured Severus. As for Neville, I've always liked him in the series, and wish he he'd had a more extensive story. The 2 professors chose him as, by this point, he is the most knowledgeable student regarding herbs. Maybe he even came to them to ask to retrieve Snape's body, most likely the only student to do so. In my opinion he knows he has become interested and so good at herbs, because Snape was such a strict teacher. I bet they sort of got along rather well, once Severus recognised, how serious and studious Neville was about Herbology.

It is amazing! Did Minerva turn back the time to rescue him or who is it in the green robe?

The style is damn nice, also that it is in such dark colors but you can still see every detail
