THE CHAINS DESTROYED ME
I'm not sure where this idea came from and it started out with me trying to do some pose practice. At some point I guess I decided I was going to take it all the way into a full piece and here we are. xD
I improvised the character and he's loosely based on a sea urchin. The impression I got while drawing this was that he was incredibly poisonous and he'd been chained to the bottom of the ocean to keep him away. Other than that, he hasn't done anything wrong, and as you can probably see, he's incredibly sour about it. I'd say he's been down there a while and he's become quite unfriendly, not that I blame him.
Edit: I was convinced by you lot to do more with him, and so I am as of now working on a short comic that tells his story and how he ended up like this. Thank you all so much for your support and giving me the confidence to make something.

btw - chains in life are virtually everywhere I thought about it too when I think of my id - tags always on the belt like all or many workslaves these days everywhere: meantime i even wear identity chain on wrist with name etc. on it looks and feels quite cool and you may even end up with a dogtag locked round your neck i e army etc except that u get used to it allΒ - which I suppose is better for me ! many feel enslaved on a daily basis

This guy has a really cool design! My guy goes through something similar and I have a feeling Urchin and Varil would get along quite well if they had ever met!

Be careful Varil! The urchin was put there because he is very poisonous/venomous!
