Progress update number 3 on a piece I've been working on for a bit now."He's the main villain from my recently completed D&D Eberron campaign, Lucius Bartley.
For now, suffice to say he is a human artificer of some power, and is a masterful manipulator, a cunning foe, and a deadly opponent. Essentially the Moriarty of Eberron."
This guy just bloody REFUSES to be done. Everytime i think i'm nearing the end, i decide to change things up a bit. Cape folds, magic, lighting, you name it. Well, i think i've finally got him in a position i like, so here he'll STAy until he's finished. I have a few other projects to work on for a bit, so personal projects like this one have to go on the back burner from time to time.

I love this picture. I actually used it as the concept for a dnd character I ran a year ago. Now I'm running a game set years later, and would LOVE a picture of an older Bartley. Not super old, just... older. lol. Great picture man, I love it.

The design of this character is absolutely jaw-dropping. He has an almost sassy "Hail to the King" attitude and the intimidating presence of lightning pouring from his hand certainly helps convey that.

This is exactly what I'm looking for. I'll be debuting as DM soon and my mini-campaign involves a series of progressive challenges and needed a bad-ass character to act as the game-master. He'll be a demigod of sorts; creating mini-dimensional pockets, summoning stuff/creatures, reality manipulation, and creating custom game rules and scenarios outside the D&D rulebook. Something to make the game a bit different than what my group is used to.

Would you be so kind to answer, how'd the players handle this dude? Was it easy, or only the toughest warrior was left alive? Because I really like the design of this villain

He killed 3 player characters, 2 through subterfuge and manipulation, and 1 in outright combat, though mortally wounded the other and left him alive as a mind game to the players. Unfortunately the game fell apart when some of the players moved away, so we never got to conclude the dueling. ^_^

Became inspiration for a villain in my current campaign, a powerful drow named Magnus. The white coat is his signature, and makes him stand out so perfectly. Wonderful character.

One of my own villains is much this type...marvelously drawn stuff here. I love how everything around him just fades to black, and his long white coat is the centerpiece of the picture. IT's all about him, always has been, and always will.

Really digging this one. Not only does the look fit the persona of the typical evil spellcaster with a god complex but with it being a more modernized style we get this great sense of nobility and sinister power. The detail on the outfit, particularly the vest, the shoulders on the coat, and the bracelet on his right hand is superb and I absolutely love the intensity of his eyes. I must say, I'd love to fight this guy XD

I like the details on his outfit, the coloring of the swooshy blue magic, and his character concept is an absolute inspiration.

I love the emotion radiating from the page but I was confused that the red scarf wasn't also coming from his hands to balance the blue power/sparks. I find it distracting and seems to unbalance the image for me. I'd take it out and keep the rest. Please accept that thought with the humble observation that this is far superior to anything I could create. And I really like it!

this is amazing even though you say it's still a WIP.
Everything fits in place, the colors, pose, folds, even facial expression, like I said amazing. One thing that made me enjoy this image more was the quote from Jack The Ripper, it added more depth to the character.

The movement of the cloth along with the coloring you're using is really dynamic, even if he's just walking menacingly! The detail on his clothes and the energy around his hands is beautiful.
