Description Version 3 of my tutorial series. This version has been specially modified to come in line with deviantART's Copyright and Plagiarism policy.

Digimods Chopping Tutorials - [link]

Q - Why is this tutorial different to the one you had uploaded before?
A - Have a look here [link]

Q - There are missing sections of text and images, some of the font is terribly small and generally the tutorial looks a bit rubbish. What's going on?

A - I'm sorry that the quality of this tutorial has been lowered. I couldn't simply edit and reupload the original version as deviantART's rules of physical image size have changed in the last 10 months and i had to shrink the whole thing. I didn't put as much effort into changing all the font size as I will hopefully have a whole new version up soon.

Another awesome tutorial by Donbenni! Thanks once again, man, these do help and inspire many of us who appreciate your work and work towards getting somewhere near this good. I like that you added more details on tooning, like lights, wheels and carbon filters; little things that we hadn't seen done in a tut yet.

Thanks for sharing your knowledge!

Great tutorial, however it doesn't mask the fact that this is all incredibly difficult, esp. for a noob like me who can't even use the pen tool
It's like trying to play the organ and fly a plane at the same time... T_T

And i havent even reached the highlights part

k i just decided to do this in photoshop from scratch. but now i have another question. since we're drawing the lines in photoshop, is it actually a vector still? cause when im stroking each path with the brush, the lines come out blurry as crap

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

donbenni In reply to rashbeep [2007-04-25 10:48:44 +0000 UTC]

As the intro to his tutorial states it's not really vector, just a similar process of creating similar images in Photoshop. So no.

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 0

SlasherArt [2007-04-24 11:46:51 +0000 UTC]

that's insane Oo

Great work man, I may get into car vectors myself.

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 0

rashbeep [2007-04-23 20:44:27 +0000 UTC]

but the thing is, i also want to have control over each path as they seem to be closed when its open in photoshop if that makes any sense?

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 0

rashbeep [2007-04-23 01:40:46 +0000 UTC]

like i drew a car up in illustrator, and i want to paint it in photoshop, like you did in this tuturial (i can't grasp painting in illustrator)

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

donbenni In reply to rashbeep [2007-04-23 12:43:21 +0000 UTC]

Oh yeah. If you mean that you drew the lines in Illustrator, then yeah sure you can colour it in Photoshop. Just save the Illustrator work to a .ai file and then open the .ai in Photoshop. You will need to specify what resolution (1024x768 etc.) you're working at when opening the .ai file in Photoshop, so make sure you know this before you do so.

rashbeep [2007-04-23 00:24:10 +0000 UTC]

hey im new to this, but does anyone know if its possible to open up a drawing in illustrator and paint it in photoshop?
