Description
Version 3 of my tutorial series. This version has been specially modified to come in line with deviantART's Copyright and Plagiarism policy.Digimods Chopping Tutorials - [link]
Q - Why is this tutorial different to the one you had uploaded before?
A - Have a look here [link]
Q - There are missing sections of text and images, some of the font is terribly small and generally the tutorial looks a bit rubbish. What's going on?
A - I'm sorry that the quality of this tutorial has been lowered. I couldn't simply edit and reupload the original version as deviantART's rules of physical image size have changed in the last 10 months and i had to shrink the whole thing. I didn't put as much effort into changing all the font size as I will hopefully have a whole new version up soon.

Also wanted to bring up another issue I'm experiencing. When I copy past from one layer (after using the pen tool to make my selection) paste it in a new layer then press ctrl+shift+U it tells me the layer cannot be desaturated because there isn't anyting on there. (and this after making absolutely certain I pasted something on there by going to edit/paste.)
Sorry to bring all this up.

This is an awesome tutorial but I've run into a bit of a problem.
As you've said before some areas of the text were cut off due to constraints. In the section where you talk about applying a carbon fiber fill after the fill/distort there is a sentence that cut's off like so: "Go to select/inverse and delete everything on the" and then it just cut's off there.
Obviously I'm a little lost on what the next step was supposed to be here.

Yeah sorry about that. You're supposed to be deleting everything on the layer with the carbon fibre. You already have a selection of the bonnet; if you invert this selection, choose the carbon layer and delete, it will remove all the carbon pattern that is outside the bonnet.

Bloody brilliant. So you dont use the original photo to do the shading, mearly a reference to it, seems hard... but I guess it gives better results.
Seperate interior... hard to see inside sometimes?
Thanks!

Hah. I just got done reading that, and my eyes are burning from the small text. But you probably don't care.
I'm thinking about moving onto Photoshop vectors, because Macromedia Flash doesn't have the tools that PS has to make things easier, especially for tooning. I like making realistic cars, but having a person think that what I just spent many hours on is a real picture doesn't please me. I want them to know it's digital art. I don't want to have to tell them that it's not a real picture...
