Hopefully this will be of help to someone!
*Also, Copic sells different kinds of paper. The paper I have from them is the A4 size Copic Marker Pad paper. (This is in reference to the paper comparison at the beginning. I used cardstock for this drawing.)

I've printed lineart and colored it with my copics before without smudge by using a workable fixative

Ooh! I'll have to try that next time. It just never bothered me too terribly much, so I just accepted it. But the possibilities...

There is still a small chance you might catch it if you brush right over it instead of up to the lineart, but it definitely helps a lot! I use the Matte Krylon UV Resistant Clear coat, which you can get at just about any hobby or art supply store. It's also good for sealing your finished works

I never thought of doing the lineart that way .3.;; I normally just outline with pen, scan the art after I erase all the pencil lines, then color. and if I mess up, I print a new copy .3.

I never do my sketches on my cardstock because I'm always afraid of wasting paper. (And I tend to overwork in pencil in some areas.) I also think I started doing it this way because I never get my line art right on the first try. @_@ Never.

Wow. This was amazingly helpful, thank you! Copic markers have always been sort of complexing to me, but now I have a semblence of an idea how to use them hahaha.

Yay, I was helpful!
They can be a bit tricky to start off with, but now they're my favorite thing to color with!
