Hey, I've had some constructive criticism given to me that told me that I need to work on my poses; they are all just stand-still.
I don't really want to learn how to make a fight scene but just to learn how to add some spice to my art to make them that much more exciting and/or scary/epic/whatever effect I'm aiming for.

If you want you can look at my art over DA or Twitter (ZaelTheFearedUB) and give me a private tutorial or guide (if its not complicated or w/e) but yeah, trying to make my poses (for concepts, stand-alone characters, groups, etc. more dynamic, and enticing.

Ah!
This tutorial really helped out with everything. I was having trouble catching characters' expressions all the time, and I was getting so frustrated I was just about ready to throw down my pencil and give up for a while.

Thank you. d:

Another good thing for getting live action poses is to watch movies/plays with combat scenes and take notes.

I was in stage combat classes for a while, and one of the first things we learned when it came to choreographing fights was that large exaggerated movements 'sell' the fight.

And to be honest, the best place to see exaggerated combat moves are the asian films. Just go through the fight scenes in slower motion and take notes.

yup, agreed, asian fighting are great references to dynamic poses.

other than that, for me, if you want to see extreme pain, check out "Ong Bak", a Thai fighting movie, very very cool, do not mind the thai language, the fight scenes are painful.

thanks!

As useful as the first one!
You are really helping me out a lot with these tips and tricks of dynamics!

Some practice, and the nasty habit of static characters might actually be done with! ^^

Again, its a in the hope more people will find it and make good use of it!

Thanks for doing this!

i noticed the "Did You know?" part about revealing boobs in an anime is fan service.

apparently they are revealing their assets for their fans, thus the name 'fan service'.

and oh, great job on this, really helped me a lot, you make me wanna draw.
