My heart, it is overwhelmed by the fluff and parental feels!
You know, I think this may be the first time Nule has looked up at Fergus and not felt some level of fear, or at least the first time in quite a while.
Ah yes, I've been wondering what happened to the farmhouse family since we last saw them. Hope they are doing okay since they accidentally discovered their guest's secret.

Nule is starved for affection. And now he wants it from Fergus. But he doesn't know how to get it, and is embarrassed by the idea of wanting it.
As for Nam and the others, I suppose we'll see when the time comes what happened with them.

It was originally supposed to be a comedy. But it's developed some dramatic tones with the more recent rewrites.
I'm not sure if I can call it a straight up comedy anymore

Lol. I should probably explain the 'son' thing huh? The slang and colloquialisms of this comic are kind of a jumble from a lot of different places.
The actual comic is set in what used to be Germany. But the story is in English. And each region has different English speaking accents.
In my head, Fergus' accent is more American. And in American slang, (some parts anyway) the word 'son' can be interchangeable for 'kiddo' 'kid' 'lad' 'boy' or any number of neutral terms for a young unrelated man.
Fergus isnt literally calling Nule his son here. He's calling him 'kid' basically ;^^
I should have thought a little harder about how certain phrases might translate to an international audience.
