This is a YCH that did of Tsubame. I love the feeling of this with the rain and the quiet moment of thought.

Todays lessons with Neji had been hard for Tsubame even before the rain had come. She had been suffering form one of her headaches and Neji had offered to let her out of her lesson as he felt it was from her over using her kekkei genkai after years of hardly using it. Tsubame had refused the unusually considerate offer and pushed through the headache. The rain though he had not allowed her to work through reminding her no one was keeping a schedule for her.

Umbrella over her head Tsubame had started her walk home. Body sore and exhausted the rain felt like a reminder of how she felt. Spotting one of the paths into the park Tsubame turned to take it, she was not ready to return home to the questions on if this was all worth the struggle.

Finding a patch of Hydrangeas Tsubame quietly sank to the ground to sit cuddling her umbrella absently. She did not think she could ever make them understand, for her it was worth it. She had never been a shinobi of notice but she had been a decent one and she enjoyed it. The missions had sometimes been lame and simple but they had been given to them to complete and there was a feeling of accomplishment when she got to watch the Hokage mark the mission as complete on the often considerable list for the VIllage. Sure she and her team dreamed of getting to eventually complete harder missions but all missions needed to be completed and someone had to do them.

When she had been convinced to not give up her dream she had thought it would be a life of those missions she was looking at. That had not fully been the case, sure in time that would be where she started most likely but the Hokage, her Sensei, Sensei Kakashi and Neji felt she still had a chance if she would face her greatest fear and struggle through the training of her returning to normal chunin ranks.

There had been mixed feelings about Neji being her new teacher for a time. She had had a childhood crush on him that she put aside to focus on her own goal as he had also been focusing on his. Her time in the coma she had revisited those memories even against her will but for the time memories of moments in her life had been what kept her fighting against the pain and dark. Now she spend time with him any day he was no on his own missions and at times even then he set Hinata to task putting her through drills.

The rain softly drummed on her umbrella as Tsubame paused in her thoughts simply looking at one of the clusters of soft blue-purple flowers. Finally she asked herself, why? Why was she so scared of the gift she had been born with. She had cousins that used it with great success but she had wanted to be noticed for her true skills, her ability to think quickly and her heart. Well she was slowly proving her heart but now she feared just being another of the Karijensei. Perhaps a part of it had been childish and foolish to stay the least, perhaps she wanted to be good enough to have Neji notice. Well he was noticing her now but not as she would have liked before and just perhaps somewhere inside deep down still. She was the broken, fearful girl he had accepted the task of teaching learn her gift and refocus her well of chakra.

Tsubame closed her eyes as a wind picked up, it did her no good to feel sorry for herself and she knew that well. It was just hard. She had not been strong enough to train for all that long and with missions increasing she knew something in the world outside the Village was coming but just not what it was. Taking a deep breathe she decided that at least for a short time she would simply sit not think and just listen to the rain.

****Just a moment and look into the struggles and healing Tsubame is going through as she finds her way back to being a Shinobi. Sometimes when you cannot find hope in yourself you can barrow it from friends until the path becomes clearer for all the weeds.
