I have been really distracted for some reason lately. Maybe I'm worried...I dunno. Anyway, I need some practice with...not cute things, so I doodled up Mewtwo. I used his old Red/Blue sprite as a basis instead of his more recent art since I really liked its gangly proportions.I've always thought Mewtwo should be somewhat vicious, monstrous, etc. but it always seemed pretty normal and humanoid in the art.
And as for the Riolu, well that's a funny story. See, most of Mewtwo's fans were kinda...outraged that he was pretty much replaced by Lucario in SSBB. I was at first, but then my warped little brain started working. Seeing as Mewtwo hates humanity, I figured he could care less about the Smash Brothers Tournament...probably only entering the second one out of overall curiousity. The Riolu was eager to join the interdimensional battle, so Mewtwo trained it in Aura, which is why Lucario's so similar to Mewtwo's style. But that's just me...

I've always seen it connected to the back of the head and going down to inbetween the shoulders.

I was so outraged by the whole replacement thing that I refused to play as Lucario.
I still refuse to play that character. D| I like your take on Mewtwo's design. Your schemes always seem to work out nicely.

Hm-hmmm, a solid point there. Mewtwo is certainly intelligent enough to see past the whole recreational-combat thing, like the Smash Bros. tournaments, though he definitely has plenty of skill to lay waste to most of the fighters therein. I like your connection between Riolu and Mewtwo, I had a similar concept at one point but I never explored it any further than a mental note. Keep a lookout this weekend/tonight, if you've got time for the chat or for IM.
