There are a few of you who may think that this is a good thing. But you know what I think? It's not. I'll tell you why:It used to be that when you block someone, they just can't reply to your page. But for some reason, dA thought it was a good idea to update it so that people can't reply to you AT ALL. ANYWHERE. It may sound good at first but if you really REALLY think about it, it will backfire and create even more drama.
It is possible for trolls to abuse this updated block feature and spam your page with multiple sockpuppet accounts that you can't reply to because you're blocked. "So what?" You say, "you can just block back or report them." True. But what if this happens to you?
Also, what if you wanted negotiate for a diplomatic solution (or in simpler terms, talk it over)? There has to be at least some way to put an end to the drama if you wanted to end it. "Oh, if you get blocked, chances are you deserved it and don't deserve second chances." Butthurt anti-second chancers can eat a dick for all I care. I believe in second chances, but I also believe in taking responsibility for your own shit. So fuck you to butthurt anti-second chancers.
TL;DR: The updated block feature sucks and will only do more damage than good.

Darn! And I was looking for information about 'Blocking' today too. I only want to keep a certain person from constantly spamming my messages with useless things that have become quite irritating, but if I need to talk to them I still want that option.
So, now if I were to block them I will also be blocked from any sort of communication with them outside of my message board?

As of right now, when you block someone, they can't reply to you anywhere whatsoever. You can reply to them (unless you block back) but they can't reply to you.

Ahhh... I suppose if i don't really want to have anything to do with them I just wont bother trying to talk to them anyway. But, what I'm trying to do is get them out of my messages, they just clog it up with useless junk posts (and I'm not being mean).
I've taken them off my 'Watched' list, can always just go and check out their gallery because they do have talent. Still see posts from them even when I click off their posts in my messages though. Weird that their messages, though I click the 'delete' button they pop right back up again when my back is turned
If, however, I were to block them would this help and more importantly, will they know I blocked them? Will DA tell them?

DA doesn't immediately notify the ones who are blocked.
I don't know what you mean by that you could still see their messages.

Oh well, I read on a search that they are not notified by DA.
As for my still seeing their messages, I guess I needed to reload my browser because they are gone now

Today, I got blocked for the first time on DA [that I'm aware of] from a girl who found very offensive one of my pools where I'm asking '' How you feel about atheist people.? '' and announcing that I'm an atheist myself.
How did I know.? She wrote a comment on this pool in these terms : '' I HATE YOU.! POLLS ARE MEANT TO BE FUNNY.! THIS POOL IS NOT FUNNY!! Why should I care about you stupid atheist!? I can't believe I have watched an atheist for so long!!! GET AWAY!! ''.
My reaction :

Anyway. Now, I don't have any ways to talk to her. I'm a nice girl [or, at least, I think I am

It's a pity that one couldn't screenshot Prosaix(sp? anyway, just an example) over her 'intelligence' when this new thing showed up. One sided blocking is royally goofed, and that's the perfect reason as to why!
