(Carved on 4-5oz leather)Alrighty!!
First off, Jareth the Goblin King doesn't belong to me. Neither does Labyrinth.
This sketch was done by the highly-talented and I can't RESIST Jareth. (Curse you, Labyrinth!!!! ensnared me since childhood.... lol) Here's the original: [link]
Lines are done with simply cutting them, resisted the crystal in his hand, and then used a Sheridan brown antique.
Had a small problem - before he was fully dried, I managed to spill water on him. I decided I liked it, and went ahead and make him a little spotty. Now it looks to me like little bubbles (or crystal balls) are floating around him.
Hey, at least I finally finished it!
Filled with 13 signatures of calligraphy paper. Yes, 13. Why? 13 hours, baby. I cannot resist being silly.

*FANSQUEE!* Love it! I've been wanting to try to do a leather hand bound book but can't quite figure out the technique, do the leather laces go through the booklets of paper, and how do you connect the ends

Artisan Crafts has a few tutorials up on it.. otherwise.. the linen thread pierces all of the pages in different areas, tied off with surgeon's knots.

Well... I do commission work lol... outta calligraphy paper at the moment though lol. 13 signatures was alot. *grins* I think if I did another one, I'd line it to mask the spine stitching, and possibly dust the pages with gold paint.
